Schwinn Air Center Plus Floor Bike Pump with Dual Valve Compatibility - Fits Schrader and Presta Valves

acetone: I'm over 180 lbs (and strong!), and I have to put my weight onto the handle to pump a hybrid bike tire to 80 psi. My son who's only 140 lbs and a senior in high school can't do it.

I know how to use a bike pump, so I wondered if maybe the high volume of air for each pump is the reason it's so difficult. The few reviews that mention this seem to agree, but, unfortunately, I did not see them before purchasing.

My last pump lasted about a decade, and while this one feels like it could also last that long (it does seem well made), I can't take it any more - I'm going to eat the cost and buy something usable.

I should add that because of the large changes in pressure for each pump (and not always in the upward direction, strangely), I bought a separate gauge to check my tire pressure to make sure I wasn't going to make it burst. The Schwinn gauge and the secondary gauge matched closely enough that I trust the Schwinn gauge.

Wudi8913: I have tried a couple other pumps, this is the best. First, size matters in bike pump. DONT get one that's about 15-17 inch tall. Get one at least 25 inch tall. This one is much much more efficient. With 3 pumps, the pressure goes from 50psi to 80psi. With the smaller pump, I had to pump like 20-30 times to get it upt tp a usable psi. Moreover, the gauge is more responsive as well (not sure about accuracy as I don't have psi tester). And it seems to hold the pressure better as well (the smaller ones touches 80psi as I pumped but then it went back to a lower psi---not sure it's a gauge problem or not). Not sure about longevity as I just got the pump, but it requires less effeot and seems to work as intended. I was planning on on getting a Joe Blow but this one is fine with me. Lastly, the seal is great as there is no leak as I pump ( the smaller ones never seem to seal properly). Overall, a very nice pump for the price. I hope it lasts.

This is by far the best value floor pump I've ever owned. It's very accurate, easy to use, stable and easy to pump, and is incredibly affordable.

I wouldn't scroll further. Buy this pump and you won't be disappointed!

zeebater: This pump has a BIG diameter and that means it moves a LOT of air in a few pumps. The downside is that you have to be pretty heavy to be able to push above about 60psi. I am 220lbs and with "significant prejudice and vigorous motion" I can get about 85 psi in a tire in 10 shots from flat. So, it NOT your best pump for thinner road tires unless you are kinda heavy. It is very fast and provides a lot of air quickly so it is great for mountainbike tires, and I highly recommend this pump for those pumping up to 60 psi.
