Gordon In TX: I bought this, more than I wanted to spend, but worth the cost. I'd do it again. Bought it because we have a Honda CRV which has a plastic overhang "spoiler" over the hatchback. The other rack I bought first said it would fit the Honda but it had no allowance for the plastic spoiler and wanted to crack and smash it during installation.
This Saris rack addressed that and said so in the product listing. They told the truth, it is made to work with these types of cars. Unlike the first Tiger rack we tried, the Saris is strong and after 3 weeks hasn't moved even a 1/4" from where we mounted it. The straps don't slack. The rack is highly recommended.

Kathleen Krueger: This fits my Mazda CX-7 perfectly. It holds my bike Electra Townie securely. I use the Saris cross bar substitute to make it more level. I chose this one do it could be used on family and friends vehicles too. I use extra tie straps to keep the wheels from turning and bikes tight together, but the built in straps always stay tight and are easy to use.
Make sure the first time you ser this up for your car is in daylight. There is a bit of trial and error involved.

Douglas J. Tomlinson: Rack just arrived, or should I say the replacement. The first rack arrived with the box opened and on inspection I found a hold down strap was missing. Since the straps are pretty secure I can only imagine that it was intentionally removed, where don't know. That said, the bike rack looks very sturdy and a design that makes it easy to put on the car. The hold down straps are not Velcro and seem well designed. This is replacing a 20 year old rack. Kind of excited to use it.

Alan: Ya había tenido otro rack de esta misma marca. Este modelo lo compré por que buscaba uno que pudiera instalar en un SUV que trae alerón o spoiler superior. Queda perfecto, las correas no tocan en absoluto el spoiler superior evitando cualquier carga sobre este.
Lo único que no me gusta mucho son los seguros plásticos atornillables de los brazos, que se sienten un poco débiles, sin embargo estos realmente no cargan o se someten a un stress mecánico considerable.
En general la marca me gusta, todos los plásticos, el tubo principal de aluminio y las correas y hebillas se sienten fuertes y bien hechos.

Bowl Dude: This is by far the worst carrie I've ever used.

Starting with pre-sale customer support from Saris: I contacted them by email as their website did not have the neccessary information. They replied several days later with an automated response that they they would look into my enquiry and follow up. The follow-up was an apology that the automated response took longer than usual. Nothing of my original fit questions.

When the carrier arrived, the strap assembly was wadded up and thrown in the box. The instructions gave no clue how to attach the assembly to the carrier. I had to scour the internet looking as photos to find that it goes through the center tube.

Once assembled, attaching to the vehicle tailgate was fairly straightforward, but took a fair bit of time since it balances on the gate and doesn't sit on the bumper or trunk. The instructions are nearly useless. The whole process took about 45 minutes.

After adjusting the carrier to fit my BMX race bike, the carrier slid down the gate. It turns out the straps were fed through backwards and worked their way loose.

Katrina Heinzen: Many design features ARE great, but as other people noted it could use about 3/4 inch more room between each bike mount! I CAN get 3 bikes on with the 3rd being a medium-sized kid bike (for my 11-yr-old) but it takes some careful maneuvering and positioning of pedals and handlebars each time. Also, putting it on a 2012 Prius I'm NOT SUPPOSED to put 3 bikes on it! Which was so disappointing. I do anyway because I'm only going 10 miles down to the bike trail. I wouldn't go hundreds of miles like this, because apparently it's not designed to hold up with the weight of 3 unless you've got it rigged to a regular car (with a trunk) NOT a hatchback. The difference being on the hatchback, the lower feet will be braced on the vertical surface with the straps taking all the force. If I were putting this on a car with a trunk, the lower feet would be on the bumper, a horizontal surface, and much more of the weight of the bikes would be directed down onto the bumper, leaving less force on the straps. At least I think that's the science of it. It was remarkably unclear as a purchaser, so I've had to figure things out. I believe putting 3 bikes on it, when configured...
