Bards Eye Photography/News: The worst appliance purchase I ever made.There have been constant ice maker issues. The cooling component had to be replaced before we even had it for 3 months. It is freezing produce. The most aggravating part is the cheap quality of the plastic. Every door assembly has broken at least once and the "CoolSelect Pantry" drawer has broken several times. The wheels broke off and carved ragged gouges in the base of the unit so that even with a replacement drawer it won't glide well. The repair persons just put thick duct tape over it and called it fixed. Not even a month later the tape was split putting more pressure on the already unstable and weak-wheeled drawer so it broke again Service was great at first. People came to fix things and parts came in the mail so I bit my tongue over the shoddy product but...a few months before my warranty was up I was informed that it didn't include "cosmetic" repairs and they had been sending me replacement shelves as a courtesy. Apparently shelves are cosmetic components of a refrigerator and I need to pay $50-$250 per shelf/drawer but they will fix the ice maker for the third time.
I have several children but they are older. They aren't...

Lara: We bought one six years ago and it has been a nightmare. It stops cooling because-- behind the panel on the inside of the fridge, there is a drain beneath the cooling elements. The way its SUPPOSED to work is that a heating element is supposed to defrost the cooling element, the water drips down into this pan, the water goes down a drain tube, to an evaporator tray beneath the unit. But, the drain tube freezes...sometimes every six months...sometimes every six weeks. Water backs up because it has no where to go. The cooling elements, wiring, and fan turn into a block of ice. Once the fan freezes, your fridge will hover around 56 degrees. And, no, you won't know until your milk spoils because for some reason, the temperature will stay say 40 unless you unplug the machine and plug it back in again. Then suddenly the numbers change from perfetp t 40/-2 freezer to 56/6 freezer. So, remove everything from fridge, take out all the shelves, get a small space heater and hair dryer....but you won't be able to remove that panel because its FROZEN ON. Wait at least a day for it to melt, remove the panel, continue to melt the ice behind there, sop up the tons of water that results....wait...

aboveandbeyond: The ice maker takes forever to plop out a few ice cubes. It takes 60 seconds for the crushed ice to dispense two cups of ice. That may not seem like a long time, but try to fill six glasses with ice for iced tea at dinner every night. I've ended up having to buy ice so that I can scoop it out into the glasses. Another unbelievable design flaw is the vegetable drawers. They will not pull out straight. They are made to come out at a strange angle and are very difficult to remove if you wish to wash them. Also, I spilled some marinade on the bottom shelf, and the goo ran into crevices around the glass shelf and down into the vegetable drawers. I cannot get the huge glass shelf to clean in the cracks without fear of breaking something, so the refrigerator still smells like garlicy marinade. It's a shame that a refrigerator that is so pretty has so many design flaws. I do love the lighting in it and love the freezer drawer.
