GE Cafe 22.1 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Counter Depth Refrigerator (CYE22TSHSS)

Sharon Shopper: My first Cafe counter depth is still running perfectly after 6 years. It was also one of the last ones made in the US before they moved everything out of the US. Love the hot water for tea and instant coffee. The unit is located on the tropical side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Bought another uni,t supposed to be identical, for another home in Hawaii. This one was made in another country in Asia. The door handles came rusted which GE replaced immediately. Obvious the refrigerator was not of the same quality, but still works well not as quiet, but not too loud. Moisture is always present, small amount, on the outside of the doors in the humid Hawaii climate. I just wipe it off a couple times per day.. It is over a year old now, I am considering buying a 3rd one for a small kitchen in Texas, really miss the size and that Hot Water!

Sarah K: The ice maker went out after a year and a half. Once that stopped working we would get puddles of water on our floor every few weeks for the past 4 months even after disconnecting the water. We have to keep a towel under the refrigerator at all times. It has warped our wood floors. We paid $2300 for this refrigerator and no one can figure out what is wrong with it. We are going to have to move it to the garage and it is not even paid off yet. A huge waste of money. Also, I thought I could make pitchers of tea with the hot water. It only makes a cup at a time. There is no reason to have this feature.

MelissaMH: Nice fridge, but has cheap interior. For the price, after about a year and a half of use, some of the silver painting on the plastic shelves is starting to scratch off. I didn't realize it wasn't actual metal until this started happening. The fridge will also regularly make really loud fan noises. I've looked this up online and from others reporting it, it appears that something inside the door with the ice maker freezes and causes vibration. It looks nice and works mostly ok (some uneven temperatures at the top), but I would not purchase any GE appliances again.

Nrc: I bought the entire GE cafe line for my remodel. This fridge came with peeling trim and loose drawers that close improperly from day one. It stopped cooling after two months. I think this model has a defect and dealing with GE customer service is a truly trying ordeal. They give you the old "we'll send a guy in a week between 8:00am- 5:00 pm, and only call you 30 min before they come" it's nightmare for people who work during normal hours. After having bought only GE appliances for ten years and two house remodels I'm done with the brand. Stay away if you want a working fridge

UPDATE: 1 year later and it is functioning, but incredible loud. I had to take the back metal gating off the unit beacasue it was literally jammed against the compressor, which vibrated the entire casing. Very poor quality. GE quality is gone, avoid the brand as I should have done. go with LG or samsung to get a basic build quality one would expect from a 2500 dollar unit. i tried to return the unit but was denied that option by GE.

Stacey Matteoli: More bells and whistles than I could ever need...but sort of love that! I've yet to try the hot water option, but am looking forward to it! I will sit and read the owners manual from cover to cover,I will, I will! I thought i would be cheated out of space b/c of the counter depth, but there was obvious thought put into the design of this refrigerator as i barely notice that i've lost any space. Very Functional.
Love it! $$$$ but worth it, if you like bells and whistles!
