J Janey: I needed a check-in baggage that met the maximum requirements of the airline to ensure all my gear would make it for a Canadian wilderness trip. This Samsonite met the challenge. Check it at DFW to MSP, then rental car for 10 hrs., and then a float plane to the wilderness lake. The Tote carried all the stuff I had, which was a 1 1/2lbs. below the limit. Nothing broke or was damaged on the departure/return.

I did place two towels on the bottom to provide a little support (as I needed the towels anyway). I was gone for 11 days, 8 of those days were in the wilderness. Great tote; highly recommend it. Keep the weight down as best as possible because it is a strain to carry around the airport without wheels or spend a small fortune for one of those rip-offs ($) airport carts.
