Carissa L.Carissa L.: On wood it took two coats and on metal it took 3 coats. I also used the matte clear coat afterwards and I love the look. I just hope it holds up! I will update the post if it start chipping!

StaticXster70StaticXster70: This gave my new end tables a wonderful finish that I am totally in love with. Typical prep for applying the paint; clean and lightly sand all surfaces, apply with a moderately fine bristle brush in even strokes, etc. I opted to seal the tabletop with beeswax, so I also used an automotive buffer tool to polish the finish to a high protective gloss. It is really easy to apply, if you happen to get all of the items that you ordered. I don't have photos of the finished tables as I have not moved into my new place yet, but will edit my review once I have them set up and decorated in place. I did learn a lesson about simply buying from a local supplier. It is great paint, but you'll actually be better off going to a hardware or paint store rather than shipping it to your home through Amazon.

Edward Raymond Shea Jr.: I used this to paint pink foam insulation boards to give them the appearance of stone. It was for Halloween decorations. It took three layers to hide the pink surface below. I probably should have used primer beforehand. The paint spread well enough and I didn't have any issues with it puddling. It dried fast, so it was easy to layer it in a short amount of time.

The color looks good and gave the appearance of stone.

RubberdudeRubberdude: The reason I went with Rust-Oleum 285144 Ultra Matte Charcoal is because I just love that colour which has a less greenish tint and leaning over to a colder blue.
I experienced some difficulties applying the paint thanks to its incredible fast drying time. My project this time was to repaint the front door and the adjacent sliding door to the kitchen. Started out a test with a wide synthetic brush but the drag was just too much making the job real patchy. It may work with a brush on a smaller piece of furniture but not on a larger surface. What worked way better was to apply the paint with a foam roller and since the paint starting to become sticky after just 20 secs I went with covering slim parts stretching all the way from top to bottom to avoid getting marks where the roller got in contact with the surface after being lifted. Saturating the roller with more paint helped to get lesser of dry patches (foam rollers tend to drop paint irregularly) and after one streak was covered, I rolled off the surface with the roller being dry in very light strokes all the way from top to bottom.
