Paul S.: If you are reading this then, as I was, you are wondering which of a large selection to buy. I eventually selected this one and have not been disappointed so far. The plastic unit is sturdy and the metal bits are not rusting yet. The spring is strong enough to reel in the line. The only comment I would make is that the line itself is rather thin (thinner than a normal plastic line with a steel core). This is to be expected as a thicker line would not reel in well and take up more space requiring a bigger drum and so on. However the line does not seem to stretch much and is fine if secured at each end with a clothes prop in the middle.

Nana Buckles: Not as good as my old retractable line. The old ones spring was so strong I didn’t need to use the cleat. The line is thinner and more likely to stretch. However does the job
