Sam: I never cared for the noisy overhead chain drive opener I've had these past 22 years. While the old Genie still worked perfectly, when I saw this opener, I had to try it. This compact wall-mounted Genie opener was a breeze to install, maybe 15 minutes to attach it and bolt in place. 30 minutes to install the wall control (used Velcro Command strips), sensors, and light fixture. I did not install the cable hardware or lock (maybe later). Another 15 minutes to program and set the door limits and it was up and running. The opener is just a little larger than a shoe box, quiet, smooth, and powerful. It took another hour to dismantle the old overhead Genie and dispose of. Garage looks better without all the old hardware hanging from the ceiling above the car. All the old Genie remotes work with the new opener after re-programming. Highly recommended.

JT Fullerton: We have a 1000 SqFt shop with a 10ft by 8 ft garage door that is nearly 20 years old. There was never a chain and rail over head opener so we had to always open it by hand. I was a huge hassle. If we were to install a overhead garage door opener it would be very hard because it is a dome shaped and would have needed special contruction.
This solved all our problems. The install would have been much smoother IF we had a normal home with wood studs. But because it is made of all metal screwing all the bolts and nailing made the process much harder. The instructions are very start forward though. I would suggest watching a video on YouTube for a visual guide, but is not necessary.
We also purchased the official Genie outdoor keypad which was easy to set up. We need to also pair our built-in car garage door opener, which was the same way you program the keypad. (Hold the Program Set button on the opener, it will flash purple on the left light, then press your opener 3-5 times until it starts moving the garage door)
The opener itself is very quiet and smooth. We love it. Never need to open it by hand again!

James Gman$: Love it !! Well built easy install, get more for your money and the mfg has a Proven record. I was going to buy the other one by lifmaster wich was more cost. I took a chance and bought this one and I'm glad I did. It comes with light,door lock,wall mount button and remote for my UTV. the cars these days all have remotes you can program to work. I found this to be very easy to program.. the hook up is straight forward just read instructions before you start and do each step one by one and it's easy as pie. I installed it on my 10x12 and 12x14
And they work great. My doors are new and perfectly setup balanced like they are supposed to be so there is no strain on the opener. Help this helps someone out there.

Cory in AZ: I have been using Lift Master door openers for decades, but wall-mounted options are limited. After much research, I selected this Genie model over the others simply because of the design on the cable tensioner and because it does NOT have internet connectivity. The cable tensioner on the other openers seemed like a part that was designed to fail, so I am glad that Genie was able to design a better solution for this. Installation was pretty straight-forward for a DIYer, but does take a long time, so be prepared to spend 4-5 hours on this project. After the install, everything worked as expected. The bluetooth-only light is convenient, although it would be nice if the color temperature was adjustable. I also read that you can add on additional lights, but they don't seem to be widely available and are very expensive. I like the simple wall mount control (also bluetooth, but can be wired), but it is difficult to find in a dark garage because the marking light is not constantly on, so you have to wait for it to blink to find the button. My last nit-pick is that they only supplied one remote. Two remotes would have been better. This garage door opener is...
