linda thornburg: After I bought this and got it programmed it worked ok for about a month. Started having trouble with the buttons working. Changed the battery and it would work ok for another week or two. Changed battery again and it worked for about a week. The light on the fob would come on but buttons didn't work. Finally gave up on the fob since the key still works. Decided to give it one more try. Went out to garage and put battery on multi tester and checked batter volts. Battery was good. Checked for a complete circuit using continuity setting on tester. Has a bad circuit. I contacted seller and they said they only give a 3 month warranty and basically a sorry about your luck. Will never buy from this company again and will never recommend to any family or friends to buy from them either.

Larry: Only after purchasing, having the keys cut at a locksmith, and self programming the keys did I learn that self programming does not pair the new key to the ignition system.

According to the seller, via chat on their website, the chip in the key must be paired to the car with a scanner for the ignition to work. Paring the chip requires a dealer, auto-shop, or locksmith with a OBD scanner; and the correct software and some knowledge. A simple task but often costly as new keys are useless without pairing and the shops know it.

Do shop around for cost I found differences of 300% for cutting calling different locksmiths. Now have to fine a deal to get it programmed.

Chris Hammond: Worked perfectly for my 2006 Accord once they were cut and programmed.
Used Autel AP200 to add them to the car and used simple steps to activate remote functions.

NoHawking4me: Purchased a 2006 Honda Accord that the seller had only the valet key for. Ordered these keys as replacements. Took the keys to a locksmith who had them cut in less than 10 minutes. Then, the locksmith programmed them to the car and programmed the key fob itself. Total job was less than 20 minutes.

For those that may be uncertain or confused: these keys are blanks that require a locksmith (or similar) to cut them so that they will fit the ignition, door, etc. They will not actually start the vehicle until they are ALSO programmed to the vehicle. Then, the key fob needs to be programmed to be able to lock the doors, unlock, etc. The key fob programming is very easy and can be accomplished by anyone. There are several Youtube videos that cover this. But, in order for the key to start the vehicle, it must be programmed, which requires a special device. Simply getting the key cut is only part of what you will need.

I called several locksmiths; they all said they had the capability to cut keys and program them. Fortunately, I was able to find one that did two keys for $100 total. Most were around $210-$250 for two keys.

David Perlman: I don’t know if different people are getting different keys but these worked perfectly for me. I had the Honda dealership cut the physical part of the key and then I used an Autel OBDII Bluetooth dongle which I bought here on Amazon to program the immobilizer chip and also the remote. It was a bit complicated to figure out how to do it, and the instructions that come with it are pretty useless in terms of explaining the immobilizer programming, but the autel documentation is very clear at least. There are other options as well, that’s the one I used. You could also pay a dealership around $100 to program the immobilizer chip and remote, but I like to do things myself. Either way this is a great price on a fully functional key. I have no idea about the “sturdiness” rating, the metal part broke out of the plastic part on my original key which is why I bought this one, and I don’t imagine this one is immune to that either, but for the price it’s fine!

The IT Guy: I am giving it 3 stars because it was much easier to program and it did program well with the car. It came with nice instructions to follow to get it programmed.

Now, both the keys I programmed died within 2 months, I thought it was the battery initially but even after a new battery, it died again in a very short time. The overall look and feel are okay.

i wouldn't recommend this product to friends and family.
