Reolink Wireless Outdoor Security Camera – 1080P HD for Home Monitoring

Brian: This is my first time working with a web camera and it couldn't have been an easier setup. Right out of the box, the standard settings are good. You can certainly tweak it from there and with an inexpensive Micro SD card I can view and review the videos any time I want. Battery power lasts for days and probably as much as a month but I added the solar panel anyway. It maintains 100% battery now so I have no concerns over my coverage being interrupted. Motion detection is fully adjustable so it can ignore birds but catch every person walking by. I think the IR camera feature is a clean and viewable video just like it is daytime.

mogo34: I purchased this camera almost 2-years ago and installed it at a remote cabin, no internet service available. The picture quality is great and only concern I have about the motion detection is the distance at which it is being triggered, I'm not getting what I estimated would be the boundary trigger. Otherwise, it's great for this purpose. Installed with the solar panel but pulled it in to a powered location only because of the wifi limit (I set up an internet-less network for the camera and watching movies from an attached media drive). Some day, I'll put a more powerful router onsite and move it back out to the solar-required position.

From the standpoint of having an internet-less network, updating firmware on the camera is impossible unless I take the camera off the mountain to a place that has internet - very inconvenient, not to mention having to change the wifi settings twice to do the update. This would be my request for enhancements - enable someone to cache the firmware onto the phone and perform an update directly to the camera via the app.

AB: So for $47 (sale price) I decided to give this camera a shot. After using it for several weeks I think it's almost the perfect camera.

First the pros:
• No cloud based subscription needed! I'm not sold on cloud based storage and wanted a camera system where my footage was at home. These cameras store to a local micro SD card (not included). There is a cloud option available and fairly priced (at this time) vs other camera systems. Included is 1 week of free cloud storage for 1 camera. I may or may not use it.
• No base-station needed! I have a large house (3600 sq/ft) that is long and skinny. To get WIFI to the front and back of the house I use the Netgear Orbi system which has been fantastic! However, most of the battery powered cameras phone home to a base-station using their own WIFI network. A centrally located base-station would not work for me so I wanted a camera that could leverage my existing mesh network. This camera attaches easily to my network using 2.4GHz without problems.
• Good video quality. Both day and night video qualities is very good; I have no complaints.

Buena calidad de imagen sin embargo el sensor por no da una! Por más que lo intente durante días con las distintas configuraciones y sensibilidades del sensor nunca acertó (siempre me mandaba la imagen sin las personas u objeto en movimiento) otra cosa y la cual se me hace más decepcionante es que en la app de Alexa dice que son compatibles y en la página oficial de reolink lo mismo, el detalle es que nunca las reconoció mi echo show (pedí las 2 cámaras y el echo junto)
Por esos 2 motivos le doy 3 estrellas.

PD: visión nocturna excelente y se conectan muy rápido al live streaming!

I have purchased Reolink cameras in the past, both for myself and family and I have made recommendations to many people based on my experiences and the expert opinion of my son, who works with CCTV cameras and video daily, and sees the good and the bad.
