Dee Thompson: A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease and was devastated and confused as to what she could and couldn't eat.
She ordered a book and found it not helpful as it spike more about the disease than it offered recipes.
I got this for her at Christmas and she loves it. She says it has a ton more recipes and an easier read than the book she ordered.
She has tried a few recipes and although it's extremely hard she is hanging in there and using this as a guide until she is able to see a dietitian.

Emily Carlson: With kidney failure there are many foods that can become toxic when eaten in excess and this can be very overwhelming and discouraging to some. I got this as a gift for a family member who struggles with their renal diet and they have loved using it.

Cpads: My mom has been told to reduce her potassium. She is 91 and I didn’t really know what to feed her. The book is full of tasty low sodium recipes and explains why someone with kidney disease may need to reduce certain nutrients. It’s been very useful and educational.

Annie2u: This book guides you to what foods should be avoided or eaten in a small quantity. The recipes seem easy to follow. I recommend the minestrone soup because it is flavorful and nutritious. The Beef and Mushroom Stew could have had a few more instructions for someone who wasn't experienced. If you are looking for a place to start to improve your renal function, this would be a great start.

Susan W. Shepard: I read so many good things about the recipes in this book that I wanted to see them for myself before making a purchase. My confusion comes from many ingredients that were on my "don't even think about it " list-for example turmeric, wild mushrooms dried mushrooms and most particularly sweet potatoes.
