p: The author is someone I trust as a student of his dharma. Having also listened to his audio program, I enjoy his books all the more because his words are felt as friendly and comforting. There are plenty gems of wisdom as well as useful meditatations for your own dharma path. For me, these books are not typical self-help, but instead a rerurn to that which is good within oneself.

DLM: I purchased this book many years ago, then it got severely damaged. So I bought the book for a 2nd time, and while I was moving I ended up losing it. 3rd time buying! I absolutely love this book. It has helped me through a lot of hard times that were happening around me and how these things were affecting me. I would recommend it to all!

Esther Nagle: I found this book after coming across a quote on the breath. I looked up the book, and knew that I needed to read it. Exactly what I needed at exactly the time I needed it. I know I will come back to this again, and that my life has been changed for the better by reading it. I have started to heal things in me I didn't know still needed healing. This book is wonderful

Allison: I have not finished this book yet, but I am a fan of this author! He writes so well, I find it inspiring to read anything he writes. Although he is a buddhist, the principles he teaches are not completely centered on that. What I mean is, I've read other books of Christian authors an found them to be too centered on God and church, etc. The concepts he writes about are great for any religion. He does not force Buddhism on you, like some Christian authors force Christianity on you. It's all about compassion and basic traits everyone should practice. I love this author, all his books I've read thus far, and I find peace in reading them. They can easily be read over and over.

PropertywithKarene: Interesting book, with practical exercises to challenge your current thinking and open you up the possibilities of a new way of thinking and a new you. It's quite a good read for the tube although without having pen and paper handy it can be a little frustrating. I would recommend this to anyone who is wrestling with the big questions of the universe or just their own questions about how to ensure you are being the best that you can.

Mr. C. Wood: Have you ever found yourself brooding about past events? Do you spend time reminiscing about your losses, and (perceived) failures?

If this kind of thing does happen in your everyday life, then it might occur to you that there is a way to get over this kind of thing, but you just don't know how.

This book shows you how. It does have its less interesting parts, and it may go on a bit at times, but the message is clear - there is a way out, and you do not have to keep on repeating the same mistakes.

It does all this from a Buddhist perspective, and is all the better for it.

Highly reccomended.

Brida: I bought this a couple of years ago whilst doing a certificate course in counselling skills. Within this area, change and loss are an integral part of what you hear within the counselling room, so I was eager to find a book that could give me more insight into these two complex concepts. When I first received it, I think I was slightly let down - I was hoping that it would examine change within a person as they progress through life and develop as a reaction to life's experiences; this is not exactly what this book does. Perhaps, I was a little misled by the title.

However, I recently turned to this book again. Once more, it was because of my studies within the field of counselling. However, this time, I took more time to read and appreciate what the book is about.

As a study of loss - and so the change that occurs from that - it is a very good companion. I think, if you have recently lost someone or something that meant a great deal to you, you would do well to turn to this book as a help through your difficult times. In a sense, it is very much about how to cope with external changes or losses. The only way this book could have been improved would be for there to...

Russell LEAK: The title of this book attracted me because I wanted to move on from certain things in the past but its a bit decieving. This book is about loss and how to deal with it from a Buddhist perspective but you don't need to understand Buddhism to get something out of it. Its full of wise words and excellent stories. Whether you have lost a loved one, a relationship, a job or anything I think this book can help you heal and move on. I also heartily recommend Awaken the Buddha Within by the same author if you have any interest in Buddhism.
