John M.: I ordered this hammock chair to replace an older one that was worn out.
Plusses: Better construction than the old style, using metal rings for attachments to the spreader bar and where you hang the chair. My older one just used the rope material; grommets in the chair to hold the ropes to the chair. My older one just attached via cloth strips that looked like they would tear out eventually; poly rope will last longer than the cotton ropes used in my older model; comfortable and looks great!
Minuses: I like to sit up straighter and this chair leans back a bit too far for me. I hang my elbows outside of the ropes which helps tighten it up in the back, so it's no big deal. The ropes that attach to the chair appear to be adjustable, so there's that fix; the back folds forward when I'm not sitting in it. This is also not a big deal to me.
Note that the chair ropes stretch and the seat sags when you sit in it, so adjust the height of the chair higher than you normally would to avoid dragging your feet. Test it first before you commit to a hanging height.
All in all, this was well worth the money, and I like it.

J Girl: Bought these to hang underneath our kids’ tree house.
They are cute and mostly comfortable. They do make you feel a touch like you’re slouching and the back constantly wants to fold forward when empty, which looks less attractive.
For the price, they’re great! There are nicer hammock chairs out there if you’re willing to spend the money.
