Jared E.: Seems to be a solid unit and a good value. Only oddity is that it came with 3/8" hose ends ends but 1/4" quick connect fittings. I just ordered some adapters/reducers to make it work so no big deal. It also included a lead/whip hose to connect the compressor to the reel and the hardware to mount the unit which I wasn't expecting.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: These reels are built well, most are made in plastic or light gauge steel....these have them beat by far, I did however have a problem with overextending the reach , so just an FYI I suggest one does not try and use the entire 50' length, I believe by doing this I inadvertently broke the recoil spring, having said that, the team at GreatCircleUSA were very helpful, the communication between us led to a solution that more than made up for the unfortunate break down....as everyone knows, there's nothing worse than being ignored by a supplier.......I do recommend this company hands down!!

David: Works perfect. I found that if you unwind the hose before you start your installation it makes it a lot easier to handle and not as heavy.

pauljpaulj: Absolutely love this product. No more tangled up air hose on the shop floor! I installed this in the ceiling of the garage. It has 4 snag rollers so you can pull and retract the hose in any direction in the shop. I noticed some of the other hose reels I reviewed only have 2.

Its a bit heavy with the hose reeled on it so the best way to install it is to un-reel the hose which makes it considerably lighter and you can install with no problem. I did go buy some shorter lag screws than provided because they where way too long.

Its a heavy duty product and I would highly recommend it.

Unfortunately like others I had to go to Home Depot to get a 3/8 NPT fitting for the hose to fit my compressor.

Retractable mechanism works great. Hose is very flexible and does not leak at any of the fittings. The most crucial fitting is the one that swivels as the reel rotates.

For everyone complaining about the fitting sizes. PLEASE learn about NPT before buying the product.

As a general rule, 1/4" NPT fittings are about 1/4" LARGER in outside diameter when measuring the threaded part. So if you are measuring about 1/2", guess what? You have 1/4" NPT. For the guy who posted a picture measuring 5/8"? GUESS WHAT, you have 3/8" NPT.
