Michael: I've purchased two of these and overall I like them. I haven't used them enough to speak to endurance or how long they retain a functional charge with use or on the shelf. However, based on some simple testing, I'd say they are very good for their primary intended use: starting a fire. The nature of the plasma igniter is such that wind should not be a concern- and that's very important in an outdoor environment. I haven't tried using in the rain (though I suppose I could try it in the shower!). For more general use - eg lighting candles in a glass container - they are a bit awkward. Due to the location of the button and the cap that protrudes above the igniter, it's difficult to insert these into a glass candle with the wick near the bottom. Of course, a long wooden match will solve that problem handily, one doesn't really need one of these. The inclusion of the flashlight is a nice option, although I'd think one should rely on a separate flashlight rather than run down the battery on something intended primarily for fire starting. Also - it requires turning off and then on again to alternate between bright beam, dim beam and flashing. It seems to always start on bright regardless...

Viral Borkhataria: So far so good. Charged it 2 months ago still lighting up. Havent used much yet but great survival fire lighting tool. Integrated flashlight was nice surprise. Well thought out to prevent accidental ignition. Sturdy body. And the fire tinder cord is a nice added touch.

Dale: Good little lighter. Definitely water proof. Rubberized and feels nice in the hand. I bet the prongs will corrode over time causing issues a light and I mean very light going over with a wire brush will clean it good enough. Like refurbishing a spark plug but way more fragile. It would work. This will happen at some point it does to them all. Electrolysis is inevitable. The wire brush and very light I mean very very light going over will fix it.
Would I buy it again. Absolutely yes. It does what it says. Weighs nothing. Dependable. The flashlight on the bottom that I had no idea was there is extremely bright. I wish I could pick whither it goes to rapid flash mode or just alternates from solid to rapid flash each time you push the button. I say that because some people could get hurt with the rapid flash as far as seizures go. So maybe a quick 2 tap on the button sets it for rapid flash but 1 is just straight solid beam. That way you choose and its expected. Would be Definitely worth fixing. The light for as cheap as it is very bright. I've had mine for about 3 months I believe. This isnt a paid spill. I cant stand that Amazon allows that. Messes up the whole review system. If...
