Amazon Customer: I installed this on the bottom/side of a plastic 55gal drum. After drilling my hole I used a heavy wire and ran it from the top fill hole down to the hole I drilled. This allowed me to put the inside not on the wire and it slide down to the hole. I was easily able to get the threads through and then placed the outside nut on which is reverse threaded. Then I added the spigot which has Norman’s threads. This allowed me to tighten the spigot and tighten the nut against the tank without having a wrench in the inside of the tank which would have been an adventure.

Howie: Put this on a rain barrel and it worked great and was easy to install. The spout is solid and it comes with the appropriate rubber washers and plumbers tape too. Easy instructions with diameter you need to make. The hardest part was sliding the nut down a string in the barrel to the hole, but this package has everything you need.

Jon D.: Used this to replace a busted up smaller outlet on a rain barrel. Toughest part was finding a 1 1/4 hole saw but it's important to use the right size and tool, after that, dead simple and works great.
