Stump:
We purchased Home Styles 5531-500 Bedford Queen Bed Black Ebony Finish as a birthday gift for our youngest daughter to replace her twin bed.
We went to several area furniture stores and either she did not like it or they were overpriced for inferior materials and workmanship.
We decided on this Home Style bed based on construction, customer reviews, and cost provided by Amazon with free shipping.
The bed is very solid the way it is constructed and has an excellent smooth Black finish. Bed was delivered in 3 separate boxes and packaged properly to arrive undamaged.
Easy instructions and Home Styles does provide tools for assembly. We did not use these tools we used our own 4mm Allen hex and13mm wrench.
I would like to advise caution not to over tighten connections when assembling Head Board, no assembly required for Foot Board other than attaching rails and once you have loosely attached bed rails to Head and Foot boards use a tape measure to square bed and then tighten rails and attach slats.
Our daughter is very happy with her new bed and I am very pleased with materials, quality, workmanship and cost.

First of all, in case you came to this bed via a search that also includes reviews for the King and Full versions of this product, like I did, the queen panel bed in ebony is what it says it is. It comes in three boxes: the headboard, the footer, and the slats.
Second of all, this is NOT a panel bed like described. There are THREE slats... not enough to hold a mattress on it's own. Also, the headboard begins far too high to be used as a panel bed anyway--you would have a gap above your mattress before your headboard started. We intended to use this as a panel bed, but ended up going out and getting a foundation the same night we put it together so we could sleep on it.
We got a 9 inch foundation, which puts our 11 inch mattress up pretty high, but we like that. Most people would probably be happier with a 5 inch foundation as it's easier to get in and out of that way.
This bed, so far, seems to be fairly supportive of my size. I'm a 6' 3" 340 pound man. I'm a big guy. The bed has not fallen apart under my weight as of yet. And sex doesn't destroy it either.
There has been one snap of wood when sitting on the bed, but it wasn't this...

I knew I wanted a black queen size bed for my guest room but I had a lot of trouble finding one (in-stock) in town and had company coming. Yikes! Amazon came thru with super-fast shipping via UPS and a great product.
I've never purchased a large furniture item online sight unseen but I took a chance because of the positive reviews and the great price.
I ordered this bed in ebony and the finish is nice. It has just enough shine - more than a matte but less than a high-gloss. Putting it together was easy enough for me (5'4 female) to do myself. All of the screw holes were pre-drilled and the screws go into metal not wood which makes for easy assembly. All the pieces were well labeled and the directions were simple to follow. Everything lined up nicely and I simply placed the box under the end I was not working on to hold everything in line. I assembled this myself in under an hour.
One thing I do want to mention is what came with the bed since it was a little unclear from the other reviews. I ordered the Nomad Platform Bedframe in Ebony. I received one tall headboard, one short footboard and two side rails in ebony finish. I ALSO...

Graham Sale: After reading a bunch of reviews, I was skeptical of two things; The wood quality and the sturdiness of the panels that support the box spring.
I decided to purchase because the price was unbeatable. Anything that looks similar to this is $400+ and I did not want to spend that much. I was very impressed with the wood quality..Not sure why there were some complaints on this. The wood is very thick and sturdy and has a nice shine. Its not too much shine either. I would say its right in-between a satin and gloss finish, which was great for me.
The assembly took about 45 minutes by myself, which was not too difficult. All of the parts are included and the instructions were very clear. The panels that support the box spring came with 3 legs that add additional support. My mattress is absurdly heavy and this thing has no problem holding it up! I would highly recommend this product, it looks fancy for a great price.
