Ngan NguyenNgan Nguyen: We bought this after our cat’s neuter, since he detested the hard cone. He is very much fine with it since it’s light and not obstructive. The string also ties securely and not easily becomes undone. I can also bend the cone backward so he can sleep and eat with it. It’s harder for him to lick his behind, but it would be possible if the cone is bent backward. All in all, a cheap and good alternative for post surgery.

Jules98: My cat has kept this on far longer than I thought. You have to commit and put it on in a very fast motion. I do worry about whisker stress so I try to pet her cheeks and head as often as I can. My 5 y/o cat kept it on for two days straight, which was a huge win. She managed to slither out of it while I was at work, and then I put it back on her and double tied the laces. She's had it on three more days now. I ordered a second one to have on hand. Worth the price.

SpectrumLady: Scheduled neutering for my cat, Jasper, so knew I'd be needing a cone and finally landed on this one. Thought, being adjustable and supposedly soft, this would be the least uncomfortable. Nay, nay, says Jasper. From the moment I crammed it on his head, he wailed and banged into every obstacle he could find, clawing desperately trying to free himself from this paper torture device. Within moments, he was out and giving me the evil eye. Again, I wrestled it back on, at great personal risk, tightening it as much as possible, without choking him. And, once more, my little Houdini was free and even more dangerously angry. After a cool down period (for both of us...had to bandage my battle wounds and grab a leather coat) I went back into the breach. This time he actually kept it on for a bit. Long enough for me to see we both had some adjustments to make. While wearing this, he was unable to eat or drink, nor was he able to fit into his litterbox. Thought I could remove it when I fed him, but once you tighten it and tie it off, it's next to impossible to untie. So I flipped it down and that worked ok. But, sadly, yet again, within maybe an hour, I spotted a triumphant, unfettered Jasper...

Rae: This was worth every single penny that I paid for it. I could not stand watching him in his clear plastic cone provided by the vet. He was uncomfortable, it was difficult for him to eat, and he seemed really spooked by it. I bought this thinking I would only need it for two days. He ended up having to be in the cone for several weeks, and I could not be happier with my purchase. He was able to get it off multiple times, but I did keep it loose for his comfort and he is a little escape artist to begin with. He scratched at it at times and it held up just fine. He almost always got it off by accident by stepping on it. The collar can be folded down easily for eating and drinking, but I found that my cat was able to eat and drink without it. There was a major difference in his attitude and happiness once I took off the plastic cone and put this on. I also found that this was way better and more comfortable for him than the donut-shaped recovery collars, which he absolutely hated.
My advice to you - size up. My cat is a male cat and is very small, and the medium was too small. I had to re-order a size large. You can always tighten it. And VERY IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT USE THE...

Phil: If your cat still has his claws I don't recommend buying this. Mine destroyed it in couple of days because when he was using his back paws to scrath himself he would hit it every time. If your cat has his claws removed, then yes it is perfect since it doesn't bother the cat as much as a regular plastic cone !

Amazon Customer: It fit nice and the string help to keep it on by attaching them to my cats collar. Unfortunately my cat has claws so he's wrecked it in less then 2 weeks. It served its purpose for this time used but had to buy him a new one. His claws tore holes in the material and I'm still finding blues martial tuffs around the house. I would suggest buying a plastic one to save money.
