Pat Altree: Was very easy to do even for this little-ol’-lady. Only downside is that the kit was missing the main o-ring which, ideally, would have been replaced. Hopefully the old one will hold up.

DVS: This work perfect on our Prier frost free hose bib. I think it was all of 60 seconds to replace. I'd had already taken out the defective one, just be sure to carefully thread it, but it sealed perfect with just hand tightening it (but I carefully gave it a 1/4 turn to snug it with pliers) , and it works perfect! This is the one to buy! I had no idea until I visited a Home Depot, that you could replace the vacuum breaker, I thought I was going to have to replace the entire faucet. Less than $8 later I'm back to new!

N. LountzisN. Lountzis: Background/Research: I ordered this to repair a leaky outdoor faucet at my home and below I detailed my whole experience hoping that it will help other novices. I first noticed the leak was coming from an apparatus on top of the faucet downwards. Having no idea what the piece on top of my faucet's function was or was actually called, some searching on the internet revealed that it was an anti-siphon device used to prevent backwash of water (potentially contaminated with outdoor chemicals from grass treatment, etc.) into the home drinking water. Apparently, these anti-siphon devices get blown out frequently with winter freezing when water is trapped in an attached hose. Hoping that there was a quick fix, more internet searching found someone suggesting the use of a dime to replace the white inner cog/vacuum device (unsure of name but it is the smallest white plastic piece with notched ends in the picture). However, this fix would help the leak but not have an "anti-siphon" effect, thereby allowing water backflow. Some may find this is a viable option (admittedly I did not try it to see if it worked) but I figured it was best to fix this correctly. I then considered checking out the...
