Prepac Captain's Platform Bed with Built-In Storage

SassypantsSassypants: Assembly took forever, no lie. Not that it was hard, per say, just plenty of bits and bobs especially with the headboard. All the parts were present, in fact there were some duplicates. Now, if you don't enjoy a challenge, have them assemble for you. The bed is very stable, no worries about it falling apart or moving around. No obnoxious noises from it either. It looks great, and is very comfortable with my interim mattress. If you have a Swiffer handy it'll clean up easily, Pledge for a shine.

The storage is great, I use it for extra sheets, blankets or anything else I may want around bedtime; books, booklight, laptop. The drawers are sturdy as the bed.

All around wonderful purchase.

Tanner121: 1st order didn't show. Another one was sent free of charge. It came with all the pieces and no damage to the boxes or the pieces inside. It assembled well. Seems quite sturdy. Would buy again.

RJ: I got this for my teenager and they love it a lot. It is quite high off the floor, and it looks really nice when put together. When I opened the box and saw all the pieces I was a little overwhelmed at first. The drawer sliders needed to be put on the drawers and inside walls, the holes were pre-drilled though and things went together pretty smoothly. This did take me and a friend almost an entire day to build though. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked but over all satisfied with the end product.

Tbennett: I bought this bed for my son, after 1 week of sleeping on it the top arm of the bed broke off!
( he is 19 so he was not jumping on it). After the top arm fell off the planks under the bed (to keep the mattress
on) kept falling through to the drawers underneath , the drawers are all out of whack and falling apart.
Very cheap materials used for this bed , it is not at all sturdy it is made of pressed wood so the screws fell right out.
I paid enough for this bed so it should've at least lasted longer then a few weeks before we had to repair it. I would not recommend buying this bed.

MVP 2016MVP 2016: The reason for 4 stars is the following... One of the 6 drawers gets a little stuck when opening and closing. I have tried several times to loosen and tighten the screws but still needs a little extra tug or pull to open or shut. Not too much of a big deal I guess, my 2 year old can open/close it. Just doesn't flow as easy as the other five. Also, when I opened the package, one of the head/foot boards has a dent in it. (see picture attached) It looks like someone let the box fall on a rock or something. The hole was through the box which caught my attention right away and sure enough, the board damaged. It does not affect the sturdiness of the bed, so instead of going though the hassle of shipping it back, I decided to just use that piece as the headboard so you can't see it while against the wall. Of course, a NEW bed without ANY damage would have been ideal. Maybe better packaging would have protected it better.
For the positives: Lots of storage space. Seems sturdy so far but time will tell. Have only been using just under 2 months. Pretty easy to put together. I don't consider myself very strong and I was able to put the bed together with...

Dillon: The package arrived a little damaged but that is expected for living in a remote location. No parts were damaged or missing despite the package damage. The bed is heavy and arrives in 2 packages. I assembled the unit in a few hours by myself. The process is much easier on the wrist if you use a cordless drill driver. There are a lot of screws! It seems sturdy and I like the real wood sides to the drawers. It has a lot of storage and the drawer glides are smooth. The unit is high off the ground. I purchased it for a teenaged girl to maximize space in a small room. Hopefully it sill stand up to usage, I would have prefered if the unit was available in white to match previous decor we have but the all black unit is clean and sleek.

Kirk and Karen: Well packaged for shipping, all parts were there. Took some time to assemble, but instructions easy to follow. Can be put together by one person. I wouldn’t recommend for rambunctious use, but our son stays with us a few days a month, so it’s great for that. Drawers are a nice size.

Shoppa mama: Very poor product. The main frame support broke in half upon assembly. Was able to cobble it back together with some wood scraps, screws and glue. That repair is now the sturdiest part of this bed. The drawers are absolute garbage. The bottom pieces are cardboard and are too short to seat into the groove made for them. They bowed at the first sign of contents, making the finished drawers impossible to close, much less use. Three of the drawers' side panels split at the spot where the sliding closure hardware was affixed. I asked the company for three replacement drawers. I received 9 new bottom pieces of cardboard and two side panels. Useless! Will try to get the replacement drawers again before the one year warranty is up, but if I can swing it financially, I'll scrap this mess and buy something else. DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS ON THIS PRODUCT.
***UPDATE*** Less than a year from purchase and I've had to scrap the beds. The replacement drawers were shipped, but before they arrived the side rail separated from the frame, taking chunks of the midline support, the foot board and the head board with it. The bed is now unusable and...
