Kwamehshac: It’s a good kit, completed over 300 sq ft of flooring with it with zero complaints. The spacers though are useless. I tried to use them and they kept falling off and jumping off the corners. The hammer shows marks fairly quickly so its durable enough for a few jobs but I wouldn’t bet on it for heavy use. Buy this kit for one or two diy projects and you’ll likely be happy with it. Good luck!

Bill Aggie: Add a nice sized rubber mallet to your order and you will have the perfect kit for flooring installation. Yes, this hammer included can be used on the floor sections but it's a little too hard for my taste! Better off adding a firm rubber mallet and use this hammer for the beater bar and wedge fitter that comes in the kit.

Steve and DyAnna: I used it to install 1200 sqft of LVP and it worked great but the tapping block eventually started to chip. For less than 1000 sqft it’s a great product and worth the purchase. Anything above will require something more sturdy.

sego219: This kit made the install of our vinyl flooring 1x2' tiles easy. The tapping block works well and the pull bar as well. The Hammer is a little light and I did not use the spacers. Overall good value for the money.

Mike: I bought this to install 900sqft of laminate. The spacers are useless unless you're spacing the flooring to a wall that extends all the way to the floor. If you're spacing to drywall that doesn't touch the subfloor, these spacers will get wedged under the drywall and not space anything properly, and also get stuck. The block did not survive the entire installation although it's well designed and made, I used a regular hammer on it quite often to speed up the installation and this block isn't designed for it. The hammer is the best part of the kit, but if you have to install a lot of floor with a soft hammer it will take you 2x as long. The pull bar isn't great. The felt pads to protect the floor are in the wrong place, and the strike end bent to the point of being unusable well before installing about 400sqft. Overall not a great value.

Jjax: I bought this to help me install a thick, heavy duty laminate floor in my daughter’s house. First let me say everything worked as advertised and I would recommend this product for your floor project. The materials are good quality and I successfully used each one of them in my project.

A couple considerations- but does not detract from my overall rating of this product.
1. Be sure the tapping block is at the right orientation before you hammer into tongue and groove laminate flooring. The slot to accept the tapping block into the “tongue” on the laminate is at a different height - depending what side you are using the tapping block. Be sure to flip the tapping block on both sides to see which side will work best for your flooring. I only damaged one piece on my flooring by not paying attention to this (but used that piece for smaller section later in the project).

2. Another slight issue, but not a reason to avoid this product, is the individual spacers are not very thick. My laminate flooring called for a 5/16 gap. I had to triple up the spacers that came with this kit to get the right gap. Luckily the kit comes with plenty so this wasn’t a huge ordeal...

JoanJoan: This set is very good quality! We installed cushion back, tongue & groove vinyl plank flooring. The hammer is small but sturdy and well made, the pull bar is heavy duty with non-marking pads on one side, and the block worked great despite negative reviews about using it with vinyl plank. There is a groove in one side of the block for the tongue of the plank to sit in that protects it from damage even when hammering with considerable force. We didn't use the spacers but they are nice quality as well.

L. ShulerL. Shuler: TL:DR -- the pry bar is better than the Lowes junk. The wedges are good. The bump block is too weak. The hammer is okay, but could be heavier.

Bought these to install 7mm LVP (laminated vinyl plank) This is thinner and, in many ways, more difficult to install than regular wood laminate. You use the wedges (there's enough) around the walls and then just go to town. The pry bar lets you tap from the walls out, which is necessary to make adjustments. The problem with the Lowes junk bar (Blue Hawk bent in the last picture) is that it bends over and becomes useless.

The hammer really needs to be heavier, but it seems sturdy enough and gets the job done, albeit with a good swing. The bumping block (the big orange piece) isn't useful for the LVP as you will damage the tongue or groove. I already had a bumping block that worked from a previous job.

Bottom line is that the pry bar and hammer are worth the cost. A bumping block that is more substantial, designed for tongue-and-groove would have been more useful. All-in-all, I was happy with the purchase and will keep the tools for my next laminate or LVP install.
