believeInReviewsbelieveInReviews: It is useful but does not work with my sports car which has a 7" clearance. I only have one jack point in front of my vehicle. In order to slide the jack under my car, I have to first jack it up and place a piece of wood under the tire to clear the 7". However, in order to gain height, I have to first extend the extension piece all the way up, slide the jack under my car and then start pumping. I cannot do that of course since I only have a 7" clearance. In order to do so, I have to place at least a foot thick piece of wood under my tire. This give me the height to add extra safety,as I use the front (of car) lifting spot Toyota has for its cars
My floor Jack doesn’t have the height for this spot
Next oil change I’ll measure and get the two smaller ones for the standard side lifting spot for tire change ( behind the front wheels)

VVBulldog: I have had to use this on my last two wheeling trips and it was awesome. This last trip I cut a sidewall so the tire went down fast and to the rim. It was so low I couldn't get this jack under the axle so I used my hi-lift to raise the Jeep a little and then used this jack to complete the tire swap. I love the wide base and the locking jack stand. I was on fairly level land but the wide base and lock were nice things to have doing the job. It has become a fixture in my Jeep and will remain part of my loadout. I actually have two of these and the first has lived in my truck for years. My truck has larger tires making the stock jack useless so I got this for the same reasons I listed above. Thankfully I have not needed that one much but it is certainly nice to have.

GVenk: This is designed to work in place of a jack stand, a bottle jack or a floor jack offering something in addition to each of those. Unfortunately, this has limitations in each of the applications where you would have used those especially for automotive purposes.

Like the rest of automotive industry that hasn't standardized on jack points, this unit has its own saddle design that is neither like a jack stand nor a floor jack nor a bottle jack. So, none of the third party pad adapters you can get for any of those will work. The pad offered by Powerbuilt itself doesn't fit the 2ton (4000lb) version despite the representation it does.

So, you land up improvising the usual hockey puck or wood block or whatever to interface which makes the minimum height of this unit even more of a problem and less sturdy. The bent angles on the "stand" saddle will dig into things in the car it shouldn't otherwise without spreading the load.

For most small cars, the minimum height is too high for use on the sides as might be needed for a tire change or a brake job. So, one will need to initially lift the vehicle with something else (what one might be trying to avoid in the first...

James: The jack initially appears to be very well built. I have just purchased the unit and have not used it on a vehicle yet.

Before I purchased the unijack I did a lot of checking on the lift dimensions as there seemed to be much discrepancy in the reviews. The box says that the jack is 11 inches tall at the minimum height. YES, that is the true dimension. I had replies to my question of from 11 to 12 inches. I am not sure where people were measuring.

The information also states that the jack has a range of 11 to 21 inches. Again, this is true, but this wide range is only achieved by raising the jack support section. With the jack support in the lowest pin level, the jack is at 11 inches. With the jack support in the highest pin position the jack is at 15 inches.

The most important piece of information that is missing anywhere is the stroke length of the bottle jack. One gentlemen was very kind to reply to my inquiry about the stoke length with the CORRECT and EXACT measurement. The STROKE LENGTH of the bottle jack is 6.5 inches. For my case, with the clearance that I have to place the jack under my 2016 Jeep Cherokee, I have to start the jack at its minimum height...
