The inflatable collar appears to make it much easier for him to move , especially jumping onto the bed/couch. He actually appears to like being able to lay his head on the pillow while sleeping - he does not try to remove by flopping his head back & forth as he did with a the regular cone. Pillow needs a normal regular dog neck collar to attach to or can slip off the dog's head.

Amazon Customer: I removed the original stiff cone from my pups neck and put this on and it has stayed for the last four days and he sleeps well. It does have loops to put a narrow dog collar in it to keep it secure. So if you have a wide collar that wont work. But I don't know if the collar part is mandatory.

Stephanie Wenzlawski: I bought for my puppy who was spayed and dew claws removed on back.. it worked well until the bandages came off for the dew claws. It doesn't help with feet locking at all. We ended up using a cone. But works well for everything else.

AvidReader-NV: My husky is a master of escape when it comes to cones. This donut was big enough to protect and soft enough that she could still sleep.

Trea: My dog still got around it, but it is much broader/wider than most inflatable ecolars I’ve seen and purchased

Jeremy Dziewurski: While the inflatable certainly does its job... its biggest downside is the fact that it is easy to puncture .. and within less than a month of my dog wearing it, she punctured many holes in it with her claws causing for numerous patches and repairs...

Cdn Momma: I should have returned this but I just forgot. Didn’t really do much for my shepherd. He was able to reach his ear even with this on. I do like that he was able to see and hear normal with it compared to traditional cone.

rkendo: Update: as I mentioned in my initial review, this Did Not keep my dog from his belly sutures. That turns out to be the primary issue. Along with that comes the unnerving possibility that he is ripping open his incision.
If you have a large (long lean tall) dog… this item, as well made etc as it is, will not limit its access.
Initial Review: Good product. Good look. Well made
First I’m sure you would agree when I say that the “plastic funnel/cone“ is the dumbest invention ever!
If your dog is as large as mine… 90 pound German Shepherd this item will not keep him from his belly sutures.
I did not see anything on the market that was a larger tube either in the circumference of the donut or the width of the entire item.
What I had to do was to add to this neck pillow and even that only limits his ability to lick his wounds. I took one of those swimming pool “noodles” and tied that around his neck below this item. It helped but not completely.
For a large dog you need some thing that will interfere more with neck bend and body twist.
I would recommend this product in light of the fact that there was nothing out there bigger for my large dog.

brailledots: We all know that the plastic cones suck. Our 75-lb black Lab got used to this solution VERY quickly and happily uses it as a pillow all day. He's also able to eat and drink with it on. We're in day 11 now. This "donut" is better than the more expensive one we used 5 years ago: this one is a bit wider (you can see that when comparing the available products) so it does a perfect job of preventing access to lower-body surgery sites. (TPLO in this case, but he can't get to his abdomen, either.) The long Velcro strap is perfect for comfortable snugness. The donut holds air very well, requiring a top-up only every 3rd or 4th day. If you use it with a collar as designed and keep it FULL, it will do the job. One of the reasons it holds air so well is that the filler nozzle is very tight. Because of that, it takes some patience and finger strength to pop it out; even then you must bite the base of the nozzle while blowing to open the air passage. It's not difficult once you've got the feel of it.
