Durable and comfortable, the Original Comfy Cone by All Four Paws is sure to keep your pet safe and secure. LT: Just finished using this cone for my four-year old standard poodle for 12 days. The Velcro on the cone makes it easy to take on and off as needed. Way easier than the snaps or tabs that are usually on the plastic versions supplied by the vet.
And since the cone was on my dog 100% of the time for the first 5 days, the fact that it's flexible and cushy is super important. My dog was able to get used to it easily after the first two days. Admittedly, this is the first time that I actually used it even though I initially purchased it in 2021 after my dog was spayed. We winded up not using it at the time as my dog was rejecting any collar that we tried on her. What I didn't realize at the time - as a new dog owner - is that the rejection of the e-collar is normal on the first day and then dogs suck it up and get used to it!
I ordered an extra long because standard poodles have long muzzles - was the right fit.

AHAWKAHAWK: My cat had a tumor removed from his ear. He wouldn't stop scratching and biting at the plastic cone the vet put on him. He even managed to pull it off, so I had to get something better- enter in this cone. It's not magically like some of these reviews say, but I'll cover the pros and cons of it in terms of my cat....
Pros
My cat isn't scratching at it like crazy
He doesn't hit corners or run into walls
It doesn't look totally disgusting like the clear plastic cone.
It bends back a little (just a little)
Cons
Completely takes away his peripheral vision. He looks up and just sits confused because he can't see around him, even after I folded the cone
He sticks it in his water and all in his food and scoots foot across the floor.
Because he can't really see, he just lays and doesn't move.
I'd definitely recommend it over the plastic hard cone or some of the others out there, but it isn't a magical fix. They're still gonna hate it, maybe just not as bad.

CMH13CMH13: My 100 lb Rottweiler recently had entropion (eyelid) surgery so a cone was the only option to keep her from scratching her eyes. The vet sent her home with a plastic cone the day of the surgery & she was freaking out & kept vomiting so I immediately put this one on her as I had already purchased in preparation for the surgery. When I put this one on her, she freaked out even more & was able to rip it off within minutes. My dog is messy (as seen in the pictures) so rather than waste the money & have her destroy it, I immediately initiated a return. A week later she shattered the plastic cone by running full speed into the neighbors burn barrel. I didn’t realize she shattered it until I noticed an unusual smell coming from her & checked the plastic cone to see that it was entirely too tight & the broken piece caused an open wound on her neck. The plastic cone alone had caused a hot spot around her entire neck. Fortunately, baseball season prevented me from returning this cone so I swapped out the broken one & put this one on. I think the first time I didn’t put it on right because she was dizzy & vomiting & it was a stressful situation so I...

Leanne: I got this for my dog to wear whilst recovering from surgery on his ear haematoma. I knew he would hate the normal stiff clear plastic cones you get at the vet.
He wears the cone at night to sleep in so his ear is getting air. He seems comfortable especially as the cone is padded and I chose the black colour so it's nice and dark for him. It's not heavy and once he got used to the feeling of it he can move around easily and even jump on the sofa.
The material is easy to wipe down with wet wipes to clear up anything like drool or wound fluid. The spines which hold the cone shape can be taken out so it can be properly washed which I'll be doing soon as well.
The softer design means that when you dog is getting used to wearing the cone and they catch it on things or people it doesn't hurt the dog or you.
My dog doesn't wear this outside but I think the reflective trim on the edge is a great idea for dogs who do wear this out, especially on the black design.
The only minor negative is the velcro is pretty loud when pulling it apart and some dogs won't like this. For mine, it's his cue to try and shake his head or scratch his ear but I've learnt to be...

A. NaditzA. Naditz: This appears to be a fantastic product -- it's a very comfortable-appearing (wouldn't know for certain, since I'm not the one wearing it) yet rigid cone of significant width and depth. My 110-pound, 29-inch-high Lab/Rottweiler (trunk to foot) has a 23-inch neck and the XXL size fits perfectly at the smallest sizing (XL, for him, placed him at the edge of the size scale, so I played it safe). I'd say this would fit a Saint Bernard comfortably. It's also 14 inches deep when worn -- all the others we've seen are 10 or 12 inches. All of this should have been perfect for keeping my dog from licking the wound on his back foot. Unfortunately, he figured a way to do it (again), and I will probably return this product. Let me restate that this is not through fault of the cone -- it appears to be fantastic. My dog is just too smart for it (God knows how he managed to bend backward and still shove his foot into his mouth and inside the cone.
A few notes:
1. My dog freaked initially when this was placed on. He can't see side to side, and it's not even slightly transparent like the plastic "Cone of Shame." He got used to it after about an hour, however. Expect a lot of bumping...
