Laura R McKay: The bells are well-made and attractive. My dog rang them right out of the package, but I'm having trouble transitioning to having her ring them when she needs to go out.

Tyjere67G: the bells themselves are cute. a lil short for my doors and short legged yorkie. shes so small that when she touches the bells, they don't jingle. I added some lighter weight bells to see if that helps but again my yorkie girl is small and lightweight. during introduction to the bells she quickly learned if she toyched it she received a reward. so, not so much for pitty but mire training me to give her a treat... again product is lovely, this may be operator error that my puppy thinks it means feed me. i still have wirk to do. good luck to you all though.

Irene Linda: I bought these potty bells for my border collie puppy on Sept 7/22. It's Oct 17/22 and the ribbon is almost torn in half. He's a very calm puppy for his breed so I'm disappointed in the quality of the ribbon. The bells are a nice size, pleasant sound and he rings when he wants to go outside.

VincentR: Quality product where I don’t have to worry if the metal balls will come out and become a chocking hazard for my pup. The string is easy to install and seems very durable. Bells are easy to use for the dog, it only took a few tries for him to pick up on the concept and now a few days later, we can trust that if the bells rings, it’s time to potty

geoff: Having bought these and the cheaper versions (with more bells on) the bells on these are a far more superior quality with a louder ring. More expensive (probably pay extra re import because from USA) but worth it for a main/noisier living area. Look nice too!

Kaz: A straightforward, useful product for training your dog and making your life a bit easier.

To be clear, these are just bells on a ribbon. That's it. That's all they need to be, but it's not like you are buying some miracle product--you still need to do the work of actually training your dog to use them. That said, training proved reasonably simple and most dogs should be able to figure out a way to hit, bump, or tap the bells to get them to ring. The bells seem to be at an appropriate height for most dogs to use, and while the included ribbon is obviously not at all chew proof, it is certainly strong enough to be constantly knocked about by a dog.

My only small complaint is that they might have made the bells a bit bigger or put a few more of them on in order to make the sound a bit louder. While some dogs might knock the heck outta these things and make a racket, I feel like the average dog just bumping them doesn't make the bells ring quite loud enough to be heard from more than one room away. This isn't a huge issue, but certainly one to be aware of.

Overall I am satisfied with this product and can comfortably recommend giving it a try.

NOTE: Unless...

Jamie Katsumi: I had never seen a dog ring a bell to go outside before, but once I heard about it, I knew it was something I wanted to train our puppy to do. I bought this a couple of weeks before Greyson came home with us, and started "training" right from the start. Even though we were initially carrying him outside to go potty, we would ring the bell ourselves, and say "ring the bell" every time. After about 3 weeks of being home, he rang it for the first time on his own. He was in the living room with us, and he was acting a bit weird (you start to recognize the signs of when they have to go!!), so I asked if he needed to go out, and he went straight to the door and rang the bell!!! He had been ringing it for a few days before that, but I think it was more to play with it. If your puppy does this, I would recommend that, even if they are just playing with it, especially in the beginning, anytime they touch the bell, take them outside so they can really make the association between the bell and going out. I will say that now at 7 months, Greyson definitely abuses the system, and rings it whenever he wants to just go outside. But if I tell him no (cos I know he doesn't have to go), he will...

Kat83: It took a little time for my 12 week old puppy to understand how and when to use this. I found a couple of videos on youtube invaluable for training tips and the cream cheese tip was the one that finally cracked it for her.

Now (some months on) she just jingles everytime she needs to go out and the only time we've had any accidents is when we don't get to the door quickly enough - which as she's only 7 months is bearable.

if you have a puppy or dog who doesn't seem to know how to let you know when they want to go out I really do recommend this and don't give up - it does take a lot of repetitions of you jingling each time you open the door for it to sink in - but once it does - it works for life. (according to my friend who recommended this to me)

Hal: when we got our Great Dane puppy we were told he was already house broken and he would bark to go out. obviously they meant he would bark from his crate but as we allow our dogs out int he house all day when i am home, we found we had a slight issue. our puppy would go to the front door and just stand there quietly. if i was in the kitchen or changing the baby i wouldn't see him, so he started having accidents by the front door. (FYI- Great Dane puppy accidents are MUCH larger than most other puppies ;) we already owned one of these door bells but as our doxies never used it we put it away. I have yet to find it so i needed this new one fast. Within less than 24 hrs our new puppy already had figured this bell out. It is awesome! He rings it faithfully when he needs to go out. the louder the bells are rung the more desperate he is! The downside is he's also now learned to abuse the system and rings the bell when he wants to go out and just sit in the sun or go for a walk. so we have to be very consistent and aware of this. if he rings the bell we take him out but if he tries to just lay around we bring him right in and let him go out and sit on the patio. we are doing this in hopes...
