Maisey uses the bells fine to go outside but likes to really ring them ridiculously during her night time zoomies or when she wants to riles herself up, even if she was just outside! How to tell the difference between play or potty and to only use for potty? Maisey is only 3 months old and her only accidents lately have been mine. I’m hoping she can grow out of this issue. She is a 6 pound cavapoo and you wouldn’t believe what she can make these bells do! I take them down when she does that but it seems she sometimes thinks now she shouldn’t use them all the time. If the vendor has any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Erin: This is an incredible product. We have a 12 week old French Bulldog who is learning, but often has accidents at the door. I have read that Bulldogs are a stubborn breed and can take 5 to 8 MONTHS to potty train. I purchased this bell and it has been on the back patio door for just a day now. Remy is already learning to ring the bell (with his head, nonetheless) but understands that will open the door. He has since only had 1 accident (perhaps we did not hear him ring the bells). It hangs low enough for him to reach and has adjustable, sturdy clasps for all different styles of doors. There are 8 sturdy, solid bells hanging at different lengths. I would highly recommend this product. My husband had looked into doggy doors that fit in with a sliding glass door, but this is far cheaper and more energy-efficient. Definitely a satisfied customer!!

Andrade: I did not read the ebook but I will for my other Boston Terrier that is potty trained BUT will NOT ring the bells for some reason.
My other Boston Terrier was trained to ring the DIY bells hanging when she wanted to potty.
*CAREFUL, they will train YOU if they just want to go outside at 2am!*
I purchased these because the looked nice hanging on the doorknob compared to my DIY multi colored bells and ribbon hanging on the door knob. Plus my Boston Terrier will gently ring the bells and if I don't hear it or if I don't wake up, she gradually swipe harder and harder each time and the bells were getting knocked off.
I really like that the length can be changed. I currently have it on the longest adjustment and it is approximately 3 to 4 inches from the floor so it's great for small puppies. Although you may want to keep an eye on them since puppies may want to chew on them. I didn't leave the DIY bells on without being home while I was potty training my younger Boston. Once she knew what the bells were for she never tried to chew on them nor has she tried to chew on the new ones.
NOTE: the strap in apx one inch wide and sturdy. The snaps may not be tight enough for some...

MSA: I read so much online about using bells for training that I thought I’d give this a try. I chose these because of the great reviews, I liked the design, but also because it advertised that it would come with a book. It didn’t. You have the option of getting an E-book if there is no book included. Based on some of these reviews, it appears most don’t actually get a book. Personally, I don’t care at all. I really like the concept of using bells for training. My miniature poodle was not scared of them and it didn’t take too long for him to figure out they meant to go outside to do his business. I started out with the bells on the door going outside. I have moved the bells on the coat closet door now so they don’t ring every time the outside door is opened. My puppy went straight for the bells, even though I changed doors! I really think I made a great choice buying from this Seller! Also, I paid $9.99 and I see now there is a special for $6.99! DEFINITELY worth either price!

rachel m.rachel m.: my three dogs tend to sit by the backdoor waiting for someone to notice they need to go outside - they bark at the wind but not to alert us they want to go out... i am hoping that we can teach them to ring the bells to alert us that they want to go out. we are about a week in and so far, so good. these bells are great quality. the loop to hook them on the door knob is adjustable so it won't fall off opening/closing the door. two bells at the top, two halfway down and three at the bottom. on the longest setting, the bells stop about an inch from the floor, so they do not get stuck underneath when opening/shutting the door. they are heavy enough so they do not get stuck between the door and door frame either. bells are just loud enough to hear in the next room but not obnoxiously loud. all in all, i am really happy with this purchase.
