D. Nov: For several years I had problems with my Google Home Max dropping the wifi signal and freezing up. Out of sheer frustration I looked into bypassing wifi and using an ethernet direct signal into the Home Max. I read about someone with a similar problem who used the Plugable USB-C to Ethernet adapter with good results so I gave it a try. Success!!! The Plugable adapter worked perfectly with no special drivers or configuration. It was plug and play. And now my Google Home Max plays GREAT with NO drop-outs or freezing. I wish I did this years ago. Thank you Plugable for a great product!!!

Rokair: I have a 12th generation Intel NUC Pro with a built in Intel Nic. It worked great for several months but then the Nic decided it only wanted to work at 100mbps. After messing with it I decided I had better ways to spend my time and purchased this adaptor.
This is working great. The lights are very bright so I would not recommend it for a computer in the bedroom unless you can hide it well but the function seems perfect.

Stitch in Time: Update: Received another one that plugs into the regular usb port and it is much faster so
no techie facts to prove it but this one seems much faster
"Anker USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter, USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, Aluminum Portable USB-A Adapter, Compatible with MacBook Pro 2015, MacBook Air 2017,"
Just started using it. Super easy. Open package Plug it in and my Windows 10 laptop with the broken ethernet pork now back on ethernet. Not being a techie and having a slow connection anyway...
can't be sure if this slowed it down more or not. I am on line and happy. Dreaming some day of getting an apple laptop and escaping all the bloated windows crap and updates that help to slow this thing down.
Hope this lasts, worth it to avoid toxic wifi

Consumer: Plugged it into USB-C port on a Moto G7 Power. Plugged ethernet cable in at the other end... and it connected immediately. No setup. No ap to load. No faff.
Same with a Moto G9: it just worked.
Perfect for overcoming bandwidth/connection issues in video calls.
Note that the makers provide a list of phones that it will work with. G7 was on the list. G9 wasn't on their list but it works anyway. If your phone isn't on the list (and isn't a G9) then check if anyone has had success on that make of phone before buying.

Dan: Worked perfectly to convert my wifi google home max to Ethernet. I used 2 of these dongles as I have a stereo pair of google home maxes. No configuration required. Just plug 'n play.

A.J: So here's the scoop on this brilliant little device from "Plugable Technologies".
I spent a lot of time researching as to whether the Moto G7 Plus phone would be compatible with a ethernet adapter.
Emailing both Lenovo and Motorola to see if they could give any answers.
They tried to help but there was no concrete answer as to which brand of ethernet adapter. Their following answer from Motorola,as follows: verbatim.
"Following our conversation yesterday, we have done more testing and this is just to let you know that unfortunately our Motorola devices do not support Ethernet adapters. Therefore we cannot guarantee it will work although there may be occasions where it works with certain adapters.
Sorry this is not the answer you were looking for".
So this left me having to order five different brands of ethernet adapters with type C connection.
Out of the five "Plugable Technologies" USB Type-C Ethernet Adapter came up trumps as a winner and keeper.
Considering the Motorola G7 family of phones (G7,G7 Play,G7 power,G7 Plus) share the same Qualcomm snapdragon processors, albeit vary different speeds for the different G7 phones.I cannot see why...

Ryan Chandler: EDIT: The customer service is so good, I'm giving this a 4/5 stars. :)
EDIT: OMG, it broke again the same way. It begins to wiggle around the connector and then BAM, you pull it out and it's broken.
EDIT: The new one has no issues thus far. Great customer service.
My unit broke when I took it out of my Nintendo switch. The metal casing came off around the male USB C part and that in turn bent the inner wires. How can I return this for a replacement? Surely there is a 6 month or 1 year warranty on this thing. The reason for 2 stars is based on that it broke so soon with no reason besides needing to pull it out of my Switch.

darkeckec: Not built as robust as Anker's adapters, but since I'm not going to throw it around it's adequate. Uses ASIX AX88179 chipset and, as such, it's compatible with Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones (at least at the time this review is written - Google may decide to remove driver as they see fit at any time).
Speed wise, gives around 630 Mb/s. Slightly faster than Anker's Realtek RTL8153 at 580 Mb/s, but not as fast as native gigabit Ethernet solution. I guess we pay the price of USB conversion.

codercharles: Excellent speed, 930mbits both ways
High CPU load in linux; their 2.5gbit USB is easier on the CPU.
Linux loads an unexpected driver, ethtool reports half duplex on all connections, refuses to set mode,
But connection is full duplex, performance is good.
