Chris2579: This is definitely not the quality of a full cast iron set but for the price its fine. If your just using for seasonal fires and don't leave it out in the rain its great. I have a smaller sized wood stove and is perfect size. There have been some negative reviews on the broom, mine is fine.

Kelly A Russell: Quality and beautiful set but this is maybe 6” shorter than most standard fireplace tools. Not very safe unless you want to wear fireplace gloves every single time to tend the fire. I returned them.

D.A.B.: Holes for screws on 1 leg out of 4 is way off . Which makes an off balance stand. Just using 3 legs ,which now only holds 3 tools. Have shovel leaning on brick wall.
Knew this product was made in China for plow and hearth 😞 , but took my chances. Bummer . Positive side , tools are well made & that is more important !

KCS: First things first... I ordered this as a "renewed" product from Amazon Warehouse and returned it. The warehouse had two of the same items. One indicated light damage and the other did not. I ordered the one with no damage and guess what... it was damaged. So back it went. I tell you this just so you realize that one rolls the dice with "renewed" orders. I suspect if the previous buyer returned an item and didn't disclose any defects, then Amazon probably wouldn't have any way of knowing. Inspecting every return probably isn't practical. I ordered with that in mind and knew there was a chance I'd have to return it. However, this in no way impacts my product review.
Plow & Hearth was selling backordered new sets for the same price after shipping, so now I'll wait for my new ones. Amazon - Hint: If you're going to sell used/damaged items, they need to be priced well below the price it costs me to buy a new one.
Now for the actual fireplace tool set. This is a compact/small set. It's exactly the size I wanted and upon inspection, the tools appear to be well made for the price. The box had "Made in China" on it, but forged tools made in the US would probably cost a...
