The only irritation is that I’ve found the way the screws are on this thing means it needs to be tightened every once in a while & my name brand pedals don’t. But as long as you don’t mind checking that it’s right before you play then it is a solid choice

Little Gunner: This pedal is sturdy, solid, and just feels great. Very happy with the purchase.

Jeff Schamahorn: The packaging was done poorly but fortunately nothing was damaged. The pedal itself, for the money, is quite good.

Justin Lefebvre: I purchased 2 of these pedals as I wanted practice pedals for my electronic drum set with 2 kick drums. I was really surprised by the quality and how well they perform. I have been playing with high ends pedals like the DW8000 and Pearl Demon Drive, and this one is a bargain at 10% of the cost. It has just enough adjustability for most players. The main thing I really like is the length of the pedal board, which is in the category of long boards to me. The friction and spring tension was good enough to reach 200 bpm. As a downside, the stability of the pedal on the floor is not great, so I had to add velcro strips under the heel section. But no issue that can't be fixed with a little creativity.

greenlava: I've been a drummer for nearly 25 years, and I've been through a lot of gear. Most of it was flashy and solid and expensive. Lately I've been gigging a ton and I'm more into lightweight and packable gear, so I went looking for a simple kick drum pedal that wouldn't break the bank that would fold flat. This pedal delivers. it's got zero bells and whistles and zero frill. It's simply a lightweight, modest kick pedal that folds flat and does its job well. Because of the holes in the footboard, playing barefoot is a bit weird, but if you play in Converse Chucks like I do, it's perfect.

Mario Dupuis: So far I really like this pedal. It has the adjustments you need to set it up to your likings. Will buy a second one to replace the alesis that came with my nitro kit. I use 2 kick towers connected to a Y splitter to play DB and it works, but it will certainly feel better with 2 identical pedals that can be adjusted equally. Did not want to go with a DB pedal since usually the trigger on the nitro kit is too small for 2 beaters. With 2 kick towers it seems to register every hit no matter how hard you play.
I did receive a pedal that does not look like the image but it's fine. I got the same model as others on Amazon.com.

David: I built a bass drum using a banjo resonator and heavy - 1 inch stiff foam board. I used a Piezo Transducer inside, so baically it acts much like a drum trigger. I ran it through a bass amp and adjusted EQ for a tight bass with lots of low end. All I needed was a cheap beater. I ordered this kick pedal and I couldn't be happier. For the money it was well built and very sturdy. It's nice and responsive - quick smooth recoil. Heck of a deal. High quality for low price. Now, it doesn't have the red paint as in the picture - just brushed metal with swiss cheese holes in but I it still looks great. Nothing you will be ashamed of on stage or in front of other musicians. Need a good quality pedal for a 20 spot and change/ This is a great choice and you wont be disappointed. As a DIY'er and cheap skate I couldn't be more impressed.

B M: This pedal has the sole purpose of filling the void of having no pedal with my recent purchase of the Alesis DM10 X Mesh Kit until I can afford a more high-end double kicker. So far I have played a few weeks with the pedal and have been able to achieve surprisingly quick Beats Per Minute (BPM) with little lag in between strides. The "sweet-spot" was easy to find; although I would say I am an experienced drummer, and just does the job.
One major gripe is the pivot pin holding the foot-board to the heel pad isn't seated so well so I have to push it back in after every jam session. What else can you expect from a $23 pedal though!?
If you're looking to just get the job done with a quick fix and need something to hold you over until you can afford a higher end pedal, DIRECT DRIVE, this pedal will fill that need!

Stableboy: The upper end of the return spring attaches to a plastic ring that slips onto a steel bearing. It no longer stays attached, so a few kicks after reattaching is all you get before the spring pops loose. Since there's no support info for the product, it seems unlikely that this can be repaired and just has to be discarded.

FOLLOW UP: I was able to insert a wide flat-washer under the screw head which seem to work to keep the chain attached. Seems like maybe this should have been part of the original component?
