Nana Vida: Ms. Pat has led a fascinating life and after reading her story, I am so happy that she was able to overcome all of the injustice, proverty, judgment, and her Mother's inability to care for her, as well as to mentor or guide her.
This book is well written and easily keeps the reader's attention. I am so pleased that Ms. Pat decided to write her story. I'm sure that her book will help to encourage others who find themselves in similar situations. I plan to send a copy of this book to a relative of mine who is struggling. I hope when my relative reads this book, that it will encourage her to get herself together and to follow her dreams.

Kindle Customer: I read this book in one day! I laughed, cried and knew all of the places she mentioned ( I’m a native of Atlanta and grew up in the 70s/80s). As an educator her experiences as a child living in poverty spoke to me( I’ve seen children in these same situations and hope I gave them a little of the hope her favorite teacher gave to her). Rabbit will stay with me and give me purpose for years to come!!! Well done Ms.Pat!

P. Barclay: This is an expensive read and the memoir is short. However, the subject matter is original and eye-opening. What is truly horrific is normalised and becomes life-affirming. Lacking care, nutrition and basic needs, 'Rabbit' survives by means of her fierce intelligence and rationale.
Growing up as a black, female in the Hood, 'Rabbit' dares to dream and seeks to escape her circumstances. Her warmth shines through every page. The language employed by Jeannine Amber who ghost-writes this story, simply reflects the harshness of Rabbit's environment.
Without a doubt, having read this tale, the applause at Ms Pat's shows must be deafening. The girl has done good!

Gillian Cottle-Mathurin: This book is raw, insightful ,and tells the awfulness of spiralling poverty. But also shows the transformation that can happen when someone is being seen ,and appreciated for who they are and can become. Thank you Ms Pat ,the angels worked overtime to keep you here so you could teach and support others.

Amazon Customer: A must read for any Ms. Pat fan! I purchased this book after listening to Ms. Pat for years. The book dives deeper into her past than what she has covered on stage and on her podcast. Many of the stories will be familiar to true Ms. Pat fans but the writing allows you to dive deeper and see different sides of the comedian we have come to love so much. A reader of any background can find a lesson in this book. I appreciate the time that went into writing this book and wish for Ms. Pat to get the recognition she deserves. Her comedic spirit is appreciated more than she will ever know.
