shelby crossman: I was at a family reunion when I first tried this style of cheese knife. I was blown away at how well it cut threw harder cheese types. I purchased one and it lasted about 5 to 6 years. If you have not tried one you are so missing out.

Mary Jo Cadieux: The knife did break but after several years of use. I suggest it not be cleaned in the dishwasher. The hot water might have made the plastic brittle and might have caused it to break. However, as soon as it broke, I ordered a new one.

Todd: For now I will reserve judgement and am giving this a 4. I LOVED our actual original cheese knife (yellow, with just ONE hole in the handle). But after about 5 years it broke. I went looking for a replacement, and found another seller with the image of the original - but they ended up sending me the "new" model which other reviewers have said isn't as sturdy. And that other seller charged MORE than others (I was willing to pay more if they would have just sent me what was depicted).
So, I went with this black one. I wasn't sure whether I was going to get the original one-hole model (which is depicted in the images at the top) or the three hole version (which is depicted in the Comparison table). What I got was the 3 hole version. I'm not going to send it back because at least they did have one image that I might be getting the 3 hole version, and more importantly, the price was inline with others posting pictures of the three hole version.
We'll hope that it lasts like our original one did, which was absolutely fantastic.
