Mattermind: After discovering I suffer from hypertension, I have been forced to take my blood pressure at least twice per day. I set out to find a device that would replicate the results at my doctor's office reliably at home.

This Paramed unit is fast and quiet. It looks and feels professional, not unlike the ones I have used while making the rounds with my cardiologist and primary physician. I love the large readout and the solid components that assemble easily for prompt results.

My only gripe is that the screen isn't backlit. This forces me to turn on a lamp or a flashlight at night or in bed. Not a deal breaker, but definitely worth considering.

Initially my readings varied. Enough so that I purchased a second unit for comparison and peace of mind. I chose the newer one specifically because it lights up green for healthy, yellow for caution and red for danger. I find myself reaching for it more often than the Paramed because I find the color-coded feedback reassuring. The backlit display definitely makes a difference. My advice would be to factor in the convenience of that feature.

tarun agrawal: I had been using this for about 1.5 years ago. The device is super easy to use and give results for BP levels as well as pulse rate. It stores data for two users so me and my wife both can use the device one after the other and can look into memory for last 60 readings. I placed the batteries the very first time and since then never ever needed to put them again. However, sometimes, I would take readings 2-3 times within a gap of 5 mins and the results show variance of 5-10 points. Other than that, its a very good device and I would highly recommend it to everyone who are making thier first purchase.

Work In Progress: It does what it's supposed too. Fit the cuff, press a single button, and it pumps the cuff and reads automatically. Why do I emphasize AA batteries? I use rechargable NiMH AA batteries and I'm geting good life from these. My previous unit (which broke after long use) used 4 AAA batteries. The life of AA batteries is far better than the AAA type. I would advise not even considering any automatic pump type meter (versus manual pump squeeze bulb type that does not use a motorized pump to inflate the cuff) since the motor will drain the batteries very quickly. For rechargeables this is only a matter of inconvenience in swapping out charged batteries, but it is still annoying and I wish I had not bought an AAA unit in the first place. AA is better.

DmytroDmytro: The media could not be loaded.  I’ve been using this for quite a while. And all I can say it’s just awesome. I recently bought another one for my mom, who lives alone and occasionally has high blood pressure. As a medical worker I can assure you that this blood pressure monitor is one of the best, especially for home use. It’s easy to use and you can check your previous measurement results. It’s very useful for people like me, who wants to control BP of an older relatives, like me controlling my mom. And what I also like is that you don’t need to buy batteries like with other monitors. Here they are, included with BP monitor, bag for it and box.
