CoryAllen78: We used this camera on 2 Florida beach vacations, and I let my kids go crazy with it. They captured so many great underwater images at the beach and pool of our family being goofy. We even put it on some rocks and recorded the waves coming in. I wish this camera was still being sold as I would buy it in blue. We have the red version. This allows you to leave the phone behind and focus on family memories and capture some great shots. It is a rugged little camera!

Katie FaragherKatie Faragher: The media could not be loaded.  Quite a few reviews say this camera is not waterproof, but I haven't had any issues with that at all. I've used it quite a bit the past few months - in the ocean, a river, a lake, at the beach, etc - and haven't experienced any trouble. I do make sure that the rubber seal is in good condition and that there are no foreign bodies inhibiting the closure, which is what the manual says you should to (and is common sense). I am quite pleased with the picture quality. I have a very nice Canon with an expensive lens to compare it to so the pictures of course aren't National Geographic quality, but for what this camera is and the price I think the pictures turn out quite nice. The video quality could be better, but again for the price I'm happy with it. You can sometimes hear the mechanical noises from the camera in the video, but I've had that with every camera that I've videotaped with.

There are actually LOTS of settings on this little camera! I was pleasantly surprised. There are 9 different modes to take picture/video, plus 13 options under "scene mode" (portrait, soft skin, scenery, night portrait, night scenery, food, baby 1, baby 2,...

Bobbi-Jo: It started out as lots of fun but within 3 months it stopped working for under water. I'm not sure if it was something we did though. I let my teen use it.

Ellen Lee: The camera is wonderful. I like that the lens does not protrude out so it doesn't get damaged when zooming in & out. You have to charge using the charger and not USB cord which was different from my other camera but still ok. I like that it is waterproof as I leave it hanging from a little bag on my bike for quick access. I always forget to take it out so it is safe now. Takes nice photos too.

sg: Found this to be a very good snorkeling camera - it's tiny and doesn't get in the way.
Good battery performance too - much better than I read about/expected. I kept it on for about 30-50 minutes at a time, taking about 120 photos on each trip, and did not have to replace the battery (though I did bring extras).

My advice is to take the photos in Regular mode (at best quality), then process your favs on your phone in PS Express or Lightroom Mobile to do the color correction. "Underwater mode" doesn't know how much blue/green to remove, as it doesn't know how much water is between you and the subject (every pic will be different).

We loved this little camera overall!

Jeanette M. OlsonJeanette M. Olson: I've used this camera a few times and think it's got potential but only as a second camera. It's taken some decent photos along with plenty of bad ones and realize I've got plenty more to learn about it. There's more of a learning curve than I initially thought and many options are buried in subcategories when they need to be more accessible. Overall this is not an intuitive quick draw point-and-shoot and the buttons are too small.
For example, I tried to get a quick pic of deer crossing the road and the problem of which setting to use and doing so quickly sums up my main issues. There's a through the window setting, ones for low light, one for action, one for sunset, one for snow, etc. and all of them would have been appropriate. The blurry deer shot I attached was taken with the snow setting, not through a window and at night. I couldn't capture what I needed and most of my outdoor photos, especially in low light haven't turned out well. This doesn't say much for what you'll get under water.
It does have easy to find features such as bracketing, macro photography, flash off and a timer on the camera but I'd look further for either a main or tough one, more along the lines...

jjcc: I've had LUMIX cameras for almost 15 years now and love the quality and styling of them. I got my first waterproof LUMIX 6 years ago, but the screen stopped working recently - it was time to shop for a new one. I loved having one camera I could bring anywhere, for every activity, that could handle the drops and abuse from me and my young daughter. Though there were mixed reviews for this version (DMC-TS30A), I bought it bc of the price and great experiences with my old LUMIX cameras. Sure enough, the first one I got leaked somehow (though I followed the instructions exactly) and the lens, flash, and screen fogged up after the first use in the water. I was on vacation so didn't have the option to return and get a new one. I let it "bake" in the sun and the fog cleared, but it returned over and over. Once home, I returned the foggy one and ordered a new one. Thanks Amazon for making the return so easy and fast.

This replacement seems fine - I'm being extra mindful of keeping the door dry and sealed. I've used it underwater several times and so far so good...clearly this version of the LUMIX waterproof cameras has some leakage issues (my experience and those of other...
