OXO Good Grips Utility Chopping Board for Preparing Meals

S. Citron: I just received the OXO 11 x 17 inch cutting board. Despite this board’s non-slip claim, my board still skates on my polished Silestone countertops. Any suggestions?

Isla: i am generally a fan of oxo good grips products and this is so good. i love the size and the fact its non slip makes cutting so much easier. the plastic is also hard wearing, i’ve used it for a few months now and can barely see any scratches (yay im not eating as many microplastics)

Poplar: The usual things are here - it does an above-average job of not sliding around (as one would expect from a company named "Good Grips"), and cleans easily to avoid stains.
However, there is also a clear attention to detail which warranted the effort to write a review:
- The parallelogram profile means that whichever side is being used, one side of your choice will always have a "ledge" available to pick up/lift the board
- On the topic of sides, this board isn't the same when flipped; one has the "drip catcher" they mention in the description, but the other is perfectly flat for situations where that is preferable

Overall, OXO continues to prove it's a good name to have in the kitchen. Huge improvement over my last plastic cutting board.

Buckeyedobe: Wood or plastic? I tried a cheaper wood but it's such a pain to take care of and made me hesitant to use so I went back to plastic. This is a perfect size for a smaller kitchen and for a moderate amount of cooking (feeding 2-4 regularly; occasionally hosting parties). The trough is handy (though lots of things seem to overflow that shallow trough). I like that both sides can be used -- such as with wood. (I once had a glass board that wasn't meant to be used on both sides.) This is also inexpensive so I can keep replacing boards as the plastic gets gouged. I keep two in my kitchen to separate raw meat from fruits/veggies. The best cutting board is the one that will get used.

Amazon Customer: Whenever took out my old plastic cutting board, I would forget, and put that huge stupid hole right in the place where I am cutting. Then all the little bits of onions and carrots would fall into the hole, and I'd have to scoop them out. Or I'd lift the board, and all those little bits would fall through the hole. Every time I shopped for a plastic cutting board, they always had that stupid, stupid hole. This brand was recommended by "America's Test Kitchen". When I saw it on the show, I jumped up "NO HOLE!!!" I immediately bought it on AMAZON and it is just great.
