Conservative Robert: This is billed as an omelet flipper, but its size makes it handy for any large item in the frying pan. Especially with 'floppy' foods, it gives support to make the removal easier and the end result is neater too.

Elise: I haven't had it long enough to really test it's endurance under my terrible mistreatment of all things used in the kitchen, but I was immediately aware that this is streets ahead, nay in another class, compared with the plasticky kind of things I have just happily thrown away and which I had melted into horrible lumpy things that defied any really bug-free washing.
Something I noticed too and to which I haven't treated myself in the past, is the superior weight and balance of this tool. It is a real pleasure to hold! I wish I had realised this before! I would not have put myself through years of substandard awkward crappy stuff thinking that was what cooking was like!
So! Free yourself of all the tacky miserable cheap manky stuff they push out and sell in bulk! Chuck out those fiddly cheap badly made matching sets that are merely for show! Start using utensils made for Real Cooks! Utensils designed to do the job properly and to make it a pleasure to use them!
Get one of these to start your collection! It will outlast 20 of the cheap rubbish!

bearclawthedonut: This is a large Spatula. Trapizoidal shaped, it is 7" x 4" x 6 3/8" x 2 3/8" with a 7 1/8" long x 1 1/16" very comfortable handle. It's overall length is 13 3/4". That's a big spatula. I cook my omelets (and fish) in a 10" Anolon Hard Anadized, Non-Stik low-skillet. I have not been able to find an actual non-stik omelette pan (very low profile with a pronounced out turned edge) like my old, dead and buried Calphalon non-stik commercial omlette pan as Calphalon no longer makes the commercial non-stik pan. Thus, this large spatula is too large to use effectively with my low skillet.

The spatula bade is very flexible, the silicone coating is well performed, smooth and thin. The slits increase flexibility and allow excess grease/oil to drain away (this should not be necessary, but...) Imprinted on the blade's steel and visible through the silicone coating is: "Heat Resistant to 600 [degrees]F/315[degrees]C". All in all a very good large spatula. (it's not OXO's fault that I can not find a good omelet pan)
