After being fully charged with the USB cord, it worked inside but the zapper and light switched off when we took it outside. The user manual was no help since none of the instructions were in English; only the list of items included in the box. Definitely returning...

Edit: as you can see below, my first unit did not work out of the box. The company sent me another one, and that one worked fine. It does keep the bugs away, and you can hear them being zapped into oblivion.

This thing works quite well. I put it on at night when I go to bed and let it do its thing while I am sleeping. It appears to be doing the job as I have a lot less little buggies in my home. I live in Florida and different times of the year it can get bad. I like being able to move it around easily too. I have a screened porch and when I want to sit out there I bring it with me. I have two cats and they pay this no mind... other then to start at the occasional sharp noise when something larger gets zipped. I'm happy with my purchase.

I really think this product would work if I had a smaller yard, unfortunately I have a neighbor that has a pool he hasn’t tended to in years. I basically live next to a mosquito haven. The guy is actually really rude. I’ve asked him about his dilapidated state of a pool, only to be met with sarcasm and disregard to my issues. I like to bbq a lot and let my kids out of their cages to play. It would be nice to have a yard in which they arnt carried away by giant insects. Not to mention I’m convinced somebody lives in the decrepit pool. I’ve seen movement here and there and I always find these dolls made out of human hair, with fingernail faces. The ants are stronger than ever, they form a neat line into my house to steal my food to bring back to the disheveled pool next door. It’s really been difficult to keep my composure throughout this whole ordeal. Wish I had more light.
