Carl Nishi: This cable stop functions well, as designed, and is handsome in appearance. Therefore, you get function AND form with this cable stop. I used it on a late 80's early 90's mountain bike, switching from cantilever brakes to much more powerful V-brakes. What a world of difference the new setup makes!

E$E$: Converting a Trek MultiTrack 730 from cantilever to V-Brakes. The frame didn’t have a rear cable stop and I didn’t want to run full length housing. This was exactly what I needed. I tightened to 6 Nm, same as a seatpost clamp. Make sure you use calipers to measure your tube diameter.

Theysaid: I have had this only 1 day. IF it does not break it's a winner. I felt the price was STEEP at seven dollars even with free shipping. I felt it could have been sold for 3 bucks and still shipped for free. It's only a clamp stop. sigh.....That is why I bought only 1 of them. IF they were sold for less plus shipping they could be shipped in the same box and then I could have bought some several and paid less for each individual part like I do with other vendors..I am not going to stock this part and I will not buy anymore of these than I absolutely have to have at this price. I considered buying some of the double ones but they are very over priced but I needed this one and its working well..I will use other methods to keep from spending all that money if I can find a way. WHY did I buy this part? I just rebuilt a 34 year old bike and it did not have a cable stop or cable guide below the bottom bracket like our modern bikes do. In fact there was no cable stop on the bike for the front derailleur at all. When that bike was assembled years ago the cable ran in a solid housing all the way from the shifter to the front Derailleur which accepted the cable with it's own build in cable stop...
