Truthseeker: This is my absolute favorite cocoa powder. I love using it to make hot chocolates or chocolate milk. It's also good in baking. It's got a lighter flavor than the usual darker cocoas - almost like a milk chocolate flavor. I highly recommend it.

RJ: I got it because from what I understand it’s supposed to be relatively lower in heavy metals. It tastes pretty good, but a little less bitter would’ve been much better. I prefer non-alkalized so I’m ok with that. It isn’t raw which surprised me a little, but it’s probably why it tastes closer to cocoa than raw. To my taste buds anyway.

Barbara: I have used this cacao product for a year and find it delicious 'n nutritious! I use one mug of water put into a saucepan, add 5 drops of stevia and a heaping tablespoon of this cacao powder. I let heat up and gently break down the powder with a spoon. Bring it to a boil and pour into my mug for a relaxing end of the day nourishing and calming (due to the magnesium in cacao) drink. My measurements suit my taste, and you will need to find your pleasures.

SD: The title says it all. In the typical "choose two of three" for quality, affordability, and responsible sourcing, this manages to check all the boxes.
We use raw cacao primarily for protein shakes. Cacao is considered healthier than cocoa because of the arrangement of its a's and o's. Also, it's less processed than cocoa, so it retains more natural nutrients and minerals.
When you purchase cacao, there is typically no added sugar. This is a benefit for health nuts, but something to keep in mind before complaining that it doesn't taste like hot cocoa. Cacao also has a slightly different flavor than cocoa, which Google describes as "more earthy".
If you plan to bake with cacao, you lose most of its benefits by essentially processing it yourself, and turning it into more expensive cocoa. Cacao is typically recommended raw.
And so, if you want chocolate flavor and no guilt, consider adding responsibly sourced cacao to your shakes. This is a great option!
