Oreck U2000RB-1 Professional Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Commercial Use

Frederick: As a retired custodian I have used several brands of vacuum cleaners over the years. This one is lightweight and as I have gotten older, I appreciate not having to push around a 20+ pound vacuum. No bells and whistles but all I need is clean floors. It is loud on hardwood floors but get quieter on carpet. I can plug it into a central location in the house and vacuum the whole house with the 35' cord. Works for us.

Mountains too Sea: I ordered this new vacuum straight from the Oreck store here on Amazon. A used vacuum was sent to me. First, I noticed the box was double tapped. A tell tale sign it had possibly been returned. I opened the box to a strong dog odor. It was bad. I found dirt and grime at the bottom near the roller. Having said that I'm happy with the fast shipping and easy return process by Amazon. In my experience Oreck's are good vacuums. Better than the heavy towering plastic monstrosities that fail in 2 years. I'll up my stars if I receive the new Oreck I ordered on the 2nd try. Update: I received a new Oreck today.

PCH: Love the suction and ease of use on this vac however a cpl things could be improved: 1) please put a light on it so dirt can be seen easier and 2) attachments would be a huge improvement!
Positives are the suction is great; easy to manuver; light weight; long cord.

Mac n cheese: I'm sure it starts to sound cliché, but I almost never write reviews. Something happened this past weekend that inspired me to write this one. I bought this vacuum in September 2019. I have five cats (four are long-haired) and one dog that sheds when nervous, when the wind blows, when a light is turned on... you get the idea. There's a lot of hair in my house. I have gone through several vacuums - bagless, bagged - they only last for so long (even if they're supposed to be for pet hair). I finally tried this one after looking at reviews.

The Oreck is lightweight (a huge plus) and converts from hardwood to carpet really well. It doesn't have attachments, but I am not that great of a housekeeper where I take the time to do baseboards or corners, so this is fine for me. From day one, this vacuum has been great. It picks up pet hair really REALLY well. But, as I said, I don't write reviews, so didn't leave a positive comment any time during the past year.

Bob Reynolds: I purchased this vacuum to replace our 25 year old Oreck that finally failed after years of service. This new model is basically the same but has a long life belt, a carrying handle, a detachable 40 foot cord and a safety shut off to protect the motor if the roller brush gets jammed on a sock or a carpet fringe.. It works on carpets and hard surfaces and picks up everything without blowing dust back into the room. Hepa filter bags are available if you need them. It's light weight and goes under furniture. It's a classic and has earned its reputation for commercial use in hotels. At $238 Canadian and free delivery it's a bargain.
Highly recommended.

Chris J: I have written like 2 reviews and usually don't bother - mostly because I hate 2 word reviews but don't have time to write complete reviews. But after one use I had to comment about this amazing vacuum.

We had our home professionally cleaned again after moving in 2+ years ago when it was last cleaned professionally, I couldn't believe how much better our carpets looked - like when we moved in but I have not been able to replicate with my Dyson since. I was considering getting the carpet cleaned professionally because the Dyson has trouble picking up the carpet pile in high traffic areas unless I use a carpet rake first and follow the same vacuum pattern every time. I thought the house cleaner did something to the carpet but she only vacuumed with the commercial Oreck vacuums she said she swears by, and that I didn't need to clean my carpet. How could a vacuum that looks like the one my mom used be better than my awesome looking Dyson that I paid like $400 for?
