Heather McIntosh: Prior to buying this juicer, I did an insane amount of research on juicers.
After weighing the options I knew i wanted a few things:

1.) Masticating. This is proven to be a superior way of juicing. Even though it takes longer to juice, the end product is worth the investment
2.) Quiet. We live in an apartment and dont want to wake the neighbors when juicing in the morning
3.) Easy to assemble/disassemble
4.) Easy to Clean
5.) Looks pretty sitting on the counter

This Juicer ticks all the boxes and then some.
After using this heavily for a week, I cant speak better words about the quality of this product.
It masticates beautifully leaving really dry pulp and rich delicious juice with very little froth.
It runs SO quiet compared to other juicers I have used. I have run it while holding a conversation on speakerphone with no interuption to conversation.
Not only is it super simple to take a part, it is REALLY easy to clean. After using, I can rinse all 5 parts and two baskets under hot running water. Clean up takes 5 minutes.
It looks awesome. The chrome and black are classic and it fits really nicely on the counter. The suction feet are...

rogersraves: We bought this almost a year ago now. In January 2014 I started juicing in earnest. I've lost 25 lbs with little effort and my health has really improved. Full disclosure: we also eat light two days a week, every week. I find that juicing helps curb my cravings for snacks. I think this product falls into the category of: "the thing which you do bests the 'better' thing which you don't do." I find juicing easy and beneficial - although I can't say if its benefit comes more from its goodness or from having it prevent me from doing something else which is worse.

The machine itself is strong and never fails. If you want to juice greens then you *must* use a masticating juicer like this (rather than the outrageously loud centripetal juicers). I don't think there is any benefit in paying more to try to find a better built machine. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that its mouth is small and thus you must do a lot of chopping before your produce will fit in. The vertical machines offer a slightly larger mouth, but they are 50 to 100% more expensive.

In the summer we bought an inexpensive centripetal juicer. For _hard_ vegetables, the centripetal is much...

Brad: I had a 'cheap' centrifugal juicer from costco and it seemed fine when I started out. I used it for a short time and put it away from several years. I pulled it out again about 2 months before buying the Omega 8006.

The centrifugal juicer works pretty good for fruit juices, but struggles at getting the green out of leafy greens. Fruit juice is a lot of sugar and will boost your glycemic index quite a bit (watch out diabetics, and don't become a diebetic!), so veggies are better for jucing, although smoothies in a blender would be ok for fruit and veg, as you still get the fibre which controls sugar absorption.

My wife enjoyed the juices from the centrifugal juicer, but a lot of pulp came out (even using the frother) and she didn't care for that. I researched juicers online and discovered the amazing differences with a masticating juicer. If I knew then what I knew now, I would have started with this masticating juicer. The green juice from leafy veg is not even comparable to a centrifugal juicer.

The only draw back is that moist & fibrous fruit tend to gum it up (pear, orange, tomato), I still give it 5 stars. I don't looks at this as a fault however, as I...

ybon: I researched many juicers before making this purchase. I bought this mainly for juicing, and not sure whether/how often I will use it for the additional purposes it says it can serve, though it's a nice bonus to have the options. I decided to go with the Omega J8006 because it appears to have great reviews from those in the know, and it comes with an impressive 15yr warranty. Additionally, I wanted a masticating juicer rather than a centrifugal juicer because masticating juicers operate at very low RPM which ensures a better quality juice and apparently a higher yield than cheaper (and much louder!) centrifugal juicers. While this does mean it takes a little longer to juice, the trade off of better quality juice and yield, along with quiet operation was worth it to me. Sure you could save money up front by purchasing a centrifugal machine, but keep in mind that you will most likely be making up the difference in the amount of produce you'll be wasting on a regular basis with a less efficient juicer! This machine is especially impressive with leafy greens! A family member has the OmegaVRT350, and while I agree it is also a great machine, I have compared various fruits and...

Busy Mom: The Omega 8006 Juicer is a great product. I have used it for greens (kale, spinach, parsley, cabbage, celery), fruits (apples, oranges, lemons), as well as carrots, beets, celeriac, and ginger. In all cases, the pulp comes out very dry and there are very few particles in the juice.

There are 6 main components that require washing after each use (including the plunger). These attach and detach very quickly. All parts are very easy to wash. I generally rinse them right after use, then soak for 5 minutes in hot soapy water while I enjoy my drink. Then the washing up of the parts is very fast. I have never had any clogging in the fine filter screen. It is about a 30-minute process start-to-finish (including prep work and clean-up), to make 4 glasses of juice: 2 with dark greens and 2 that are more on the fruity kid-friendly spectrum.

I am new to juicing and purchased this product as an Xmas gift to myself. I was surprised that my entire family immediately gravitated toward requesting their morning drinks. My 4- and 5-year-old kids love helping make their own juice concoctions. For kids who hate carrots, they are now getting 1-2 carrots every morning with the juicer and...

Frugal Lee: I believe I read about every review written before ordering this item. I am a first time juicer and wanted to get as much nutrition out of my juices as possible and not have to spend hours in the process. The longest part of the process is the preparation of the vegetables and fruits, but I have a pretty good system down after about a week. The juicing does not take long and the clean up is a breeze. The improved auger on this model is truly sturdy and solid and the main reason I went with the J8006. It only requires a little counter space when using it, otherwise I tuck it away nicely. As mentioned by others, the pulp that comes out the end is moist, but not super wet and so it extracts a surprising amount of juice from everything, including greens. Some warm soapy water cleans up the attachments very quickly and I leave them on a towel to air dry. So easy to assemble, a caveman could do it (no offense intended).

The juicer much quieter than any coffee grinder and I would not hesitate to run it while others are sleeping. My basic green juice (I'll start experimenting with some others and wheat grass later) is as follows:
-1 peeled cucumber
-4 celery stalks
-2...

Hillary Jaroschy: This is the first juicer I have ever purchased. I bought a centrifugal juicer at first but returned it before opening for a masticating juicer because of all the positive reviews towards the masticating juicers. I have only had this juicer one week but I am absolutely thrilled. Not only was it smaller than I expected so it sits on my counter top like a toaster (I keep the nozzle and juice/pulp collecting containers in a drawer) but it's so beautiful! However, BEST PART is how EASY it is to use! And the clean-up is a BREEZE. The parts, once you learn how to assemble and disassemble them, are really easy to clean. The pulp collects very dry and cleanly in one of the two plastic bins for easy dumping or composting. The juicer seems very efficient as again, the pulp emitted is very dry and can be touched and played with. The chute is very small, yes, but I find that you'd probably cut up your veggies no matter what juicer you have and it doesn't bother me one bit to chop my fruits and vegetables. They only need a very quick rough chop and it takes no time at all. I am extremely happy with my new baby. It is also VERY VERY quiet in my opinion. It is quieter than a blender. I can watch...

austin_Larry: I had forgotten and mainly never knew that Orange Juice could taste so good. I have never had my own juicer and the results I get here surpass any fresh squeezed at the restaurant juice I have ever had. I had been buying juice from the store and did not know what real, fresh-squeezed juice can taste like. WOW. This juicer produces amazing, tasty juice. It is extremely easy to use, assemble, disassemble, clean, and set up again. I am new to juicing and if you are searching for a juicer and deciding whether to invest in one that costs this much here is what I think you should consider.

Masticating juicer versus a centrifuge juicer. Virtually all lower price juicers (lower than $200) are centrifuge juicers. There are also centrifuge juicers that cost much more than the 8006. I highly suggest using the web to find sites that compare the two. After reading a variety of those sites I knew I wanted a masticating juicer. I am not a biochemist but a lot of the sites claim that centrifuge juicers produce so much heat that can kill enzymes, produce more oxidation, and generally reduce the nutritional benefits of any particular juice you create. I am not here to vouch for that but I...
