Avery: this cleaver came out of the box not exactly shaving sharp, but the 14C28N steel can take a super keen edge after sharpening- which, with this steel, is a breeze. ive use it to cleave pork, chicken and vegetables with ease, and the cleaver hasnt taken any damage that i couldnt fix with ten minutes of sharpening once a week.
the handle has a slight gap from the blade, but it hasnt shifted or proven a problem yet, though i dont particularly like the handle shape.
all in all, this knife is a steal for less than 30$!!! highly, highly reccomend.

Pen Name: I chop stuff to cook in the instant pot and the knife is a great weight and form factor for that sous chef type stuff.

A. Ghost: Amazing good deal for an olive wood handled cleaver in a quality Sandvik steel. I really like 14c28n in the kitchen. Stainless and tough. Should make for a very good cleaver. Also, the workmanship is fine. Nice finish on all surfaces and the fit up on the handles looks good. Very pleased with the purchase.

Amazon Customer: Not a knife I use very often but good for slicing brisket. Maybe too big for your sunday roast or a turkey but will try it. Blade comes sharp but not super high quality steel at this price so expect to sharpen a lot.

Jeff: I really like this knife. It is a great value. The 14c28N sandvik steel is a favorite of mine for it’s willingness to take a very, very keen edge, edge retention and ease of sharpening. It came shaving sharp right out-of-the-box. The balance point is exactly at the joint of the blade and bolster and feels neutral from tip to butt in a pinch grip. The blade geometry is very much a western chef knife with long belly curve and only a very short flat section at the heel. Folks who like to use a rocking motion to make cuts will like this shape and it’s more effective used that way than a chopper or push&draw slicing. It’s quite thin behind the edge, almost “Japanese style” thin. It’s on the taller side of average at the heel. I have very large hands and knuckle clearance is no problem. The olive wood handle is a unique shape and very comfortable. The fit and finish is quite good however, it does not have a crowned spine or choil (easily remedied if one wishes to do a little light filing/sanding/polishing). Over all, it’s a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing design. Wickedly sharp, cuts like a laser and is very comfortable in hand. I believe I bought this for about $50...

Jayniel: Like many people during the pandemic, I've gone back to baking bread at home. I didn't reuse how awful my bread knife had become until I received this one and tried it on a freshly baked loaf. What a fabulous result - super sharpe and cuts through crispy crusts with no effort. I love this knife so much, I'm going to look for their complimentary steak knives and a good knife for slicing roasts. You won't be disappointed. I know there are less expensive bread knives out there, and I did consider buying one, but am so happy I went with the Cutluxe brand.

macloudy: Was a bit hesitant to purchase when all the reviews here seem to be those who scored a freebie (still wonder at the fairness/legitimacy of the Vine reviews...) but I'm glad I did. I bought one for a family member for Xmas, who seemed to love it, so decided to get one for myself. It's is a gorgeous knife, the wooden handle is lovely to hold and has a nice weight, and oh yes, it's insanely sharp. I've used it for multiple BIG jobs a day for the past 10 days - mostly veggies, fruit, meat and fish - and although I find the blade to be perhaps just a scratch too long for the size of the handle (that could just be me, though) it's still feels great to use, has not yet lost any of its cutting precision and is now the knife I gravitate toward when heading into the kitchen. The epitome of a fingertip-curling knife, so am glad I learnt that hard lesson years ago on much less razor sharp blades. I do wish it had come with a more substantial sleeve for travelling, but the box works, too. Overall more than satisfied.

David Moore: I should have bought one of these Granton Blade Edge slicers years ago. I used it last night for first time on a pork tenderloin and the cuts were effortless with no sticking as I usually get with my traditional carving knife. This is a beautiful slicing knife, .... it's nicely balanced, very responsive, super sharp, and I look forward to using it for any of my larger cuts of meat. I cut thin slices of meat for stir fries and I see this doing exactly that. The only reservation would be the longevity of the olive handle; however, with extra care when cleaning it should be OK.

james markert: You couldn't ask for a better serrated knife.
It said it was made in PRC. Me being pretty buzzed thought Puerto Rico! Haa! Had I known at the time the knife was from China I would not have purchased it. That being said, I will reiterate, it is one of the best knives I've owned. From a trained chef. Amazon should put a breathalyzer on their app!!
