I had a Ninja blender for about 4 years before my 12 year old son broke the lid while cleaning it... I started looking at lid replacements and it was only something like $20 more to just buy a new, upgraded one. With the cup and the mixer options which I didn't have before. So I went with this, and I am not disappointed. Ninja is worth the money every time.
Replacement parts are expensive though.
