Amazon Customer: The media could not be loaded. We shared this book with the 2 year old in our life and she LOVED IT! She has a big imagination and this book fueled it. It’s very simple, fun, and creative. The only bad thing about this book is the fact that I have four pages out of order in my copy.

S.E.Walsh: This is a lovely thoughtful book about imagination. The illustrations were just enough to tell the story without getting in the way of the message. I used it for a staff meeting and plan to use it again.

mrs ce lewis: A super resource for all early years staff to use! Used a starter to further develop imaginative play and the children have kept asking for this book since. Lots of child led planning came from this little story book.

NC: This book is so perfect for primary aged kids. Mine loved it- loved the repetitiveness of it and the imagination behind it. Simple yet beautiful/thought provoking. What every children’s book should be.

Ms. S. E. Smithers: If you have read Not a Stick, you'll know exactly what you're getting with this one. It's a nice little book that explores the realm of imagination and using everyday objects in play. Each double page spread has a parent / carer question such as 'why are you standing on the box?', and the next double-page spread has the child rabbit's response with the image of what they're playing at overlayed so you can see (in this example it's a mountain they've climbed, others show a racing car, a robot, a rocket ship etc.).
It's nice to sit down with my daughter and read, discuss the pictures and what the little bunny is imagining, and spot the box in each of the pictures. Personally I prefer Not a Stick, just because I slightly prefer the imaginative uses and the blue and beige colour scheme, but these are really personal preferences and others will feel differently.
I know from other reviews that some parents were concerned these books would be a bit abstract for their children and I felt the same when my partner got Not a Stick, however it's really not the case and my daughter thoroughly enjoys both books.

Amazon Customer: I love that this is a board book. I love the simple drawings, I love the simple text that invites a depth of thinking. I love the creative inventions that the rabbit thinks about for the box. It invites kids to be inventive, and curious, and to play deeply.
