Dr Bonkers:
I ordered this product to replace a Zoeller Model 507 Sump Pump Marine Battery Charger that failed after 6 years of use by giving false alarms that the battery was not charged when in fact it was.
The NICI Genius GEN1 is performing well so far with none of the issues associated with the other unit. If you need a replacement for your Zoeller charger, this is the one to get. It is quick and painless to set up.

Luke: I bought this charger for a group 27 100ah agm battery. This thing charges fast. Charger gets somewhat warm when charging but no where near as hot as my little 3amp charger(most chargers get much hotter) Many people complain about the terminals being fixed. What I did is use electrical tape and attached a quick connector that way I can easily remove the charger without voiding my warranty. Always unplug the charger from the wall first, as this is the way the charger is designed to use.

phoneman:
Looks well built. Hooked it up to a battery and it charged it up and then shut down. I put a bit of a load on the battery and charger started up again, just as I would have expected. I think it will be perfect for my Boler trailer. I have only tried it once but so far it has done what it's supposed to.
One other thing, I was surprised how cool it ran while charging the battery, it just got slightly warm to the touch.

Amazon Customer:
I just installed the GEN1 in my 2003 Suburban 1500. I had to snip the eyelet adapters due to the battery design. I took off about 2 inches of wire sheath and wrapped it around the terminal bolts. I tightened the bolts (no copper wire is exposed). The fit was tight.
I then plugged it in. I got a blinking red led light (it should be a steady red light - indicating that it is charging).
I read the "trouble shooting" section. My best guess was the battery was too dead to charge. The pamphlet suggested jumping the battery to give it a little juice. I left GEN1 leads in place. I connected the jumper cables to a charged battery. I only had to leave it on for 3 or 4 minutes. I detached the jumper cables and the error went away. That is, it stopped blinking red. It stayed solid red. After 20 minutes of charging (this time with no jumpers - just the trickle charger), the truck started. When I shut the truck off, the green light stayed lit. This indicated the battery is charged. I knew it wasn't. To fix this, I unplugged the extension cord. When I reconnected the power cord, the red light came on - this time with no errors. I repeated this...

MRTN: I have had this charger for a few months now and it is working perfectly. Because of its smart charging circuits, I don't have to worry about over charging my battery. I check it after it has charged a couple of hours and then unplug it. There is no need for me to continue to keep the charger energized once the battery is fully charged. It does not lose much of a charge between uses. But it is nice to know that I can leave it energized, just in case I forget and it would not hurt the battery. The manufacturer recommends that you do not leave the battery and charger un attended. I know that they must say that to cover themselves, but any kind of equipment could fail at some point, so it is just wise to check on things. But that said, I have a lot of confidence in this product based on its performance thus far. And it is waterproof. My charger is out side in a container that is fairly waterproof, but not fully. My battery is running a pump, so water is involved. Don't have to worry if a little water splashes on the charger. All is well

brad: Perfect. EXACTLY what i wanted. Installation was easy, i like the accessories available. does exactly what it says.. i work out of town and either fly or take rental vehicles.. this way i keep my battery charged and functional during the winter. dead batteries freeze,, not good. this is also way cheaper than a new battery, extends life and health of new batteries. ill be buying more for my other toys :D.

Michael: I have bought two of these so far. I mount them to my trucks because I do a lot of short trips and the alternator just can't recharge the batteries well enough to recover what was expended in each startup. These take care of that problem. They quick charge, maintain the batteries once up to full charge, and can even help recover a low/sulfated battery. I'll keep buying when the need arises again.
