Mary: Just got it. Not a cheap battery charger but appears robust. It was easy to install on the boat and simply plugs into an outlet. Hope it keeps my boat batteries charged this winter.

Paul BPaul B: Installed the unit under my backseat just on the other side of the wall from my engine and the dual 12v batteries in my 20ft Fish/Ski boat. Very easy to install, I did have to remove a small section of carpet so the screws (not included)would go into the wood, as per the installation instructions. Once everything was connected I plugged in the unit and it goes through a self-test, after about 2 minutes if all cables are connected correctly the unit starts charging the batteries. It took my 2 batteries a few hours to charge and then it went to a "condition" mode for a couple of hours then finally a "maintain" mode. I'll keep it plugged in until I use the boat knowing both batteries will be fully charged. The unit does get VERY HOT while in the "charge" mode, I guess this is why they want you to remove carpet and the like before you install. The cables and batteries do NOT get hot and the paperwork also says the unit will get hot, so nothing to worry about. I keep the engine compart open and the seat top open just for air circulation. Freddy Ard: Bought this unit upon recommendation of a friend. He had recently purchased and mounted to his classic Mako inboard. My boat is a Carolina Skiff 238DLV, and I plan to mount the on-board charger in the compartment that holds my two batteries. I intend to secure a “perforated” panel of 12”x12”x1/2 starboard to the inside fiberglass wall of the compartment, then fasten the charger to the starboard using #10x1/2” SS sheet metal screws.

So far, I have not completed that mounting in my boat. The charger is in service, charging my starting battery and deep cycle electronics battery. Both are new as of September of 2018, are pulled from the boat for the winter, and hooked to the charger. So far, it works great right out of the box, giving appropriate indicators. Once I have this unit installed in my boat and in service as it is intended, I will revise my review.

Ed HEd H: Awesome. Just installed the ProSport 12 on my Four Winns Horizon 260. I have twin Optima Bluetop D27M(s). Install and hookup was easy and the instruction manual is very well written. The charging and maintenance functions are working perfectly so far, after about 4 cycles on the water since I installed it. The LED indicators are easy to read and understand. Although my batteries are pretty big, I haven't found that the ProSport 12 gets too hot even when recovering the batts to full charge after a busy day on the water. If you have Optima Blue D31M(s) you might will want a larger unit, but this unit is working just great for my D27M(s) - I'm using the black charging profile selector plug that's preinstalled in the charger.

DiverEngrSL17K: I have had a great deal of past experience over the years with different iterations of the ProMariner battery chargers in the most demanding and hostile environments possible, and every single one of them has been wholly positive, to say the least, regardless of model, type, or application. Definitely the most cost-effective chargers of their type available anywhere, period --- in fact, probably the most effective and reliable battery chargers of their type, regardless of cost. I have been truly impressed with the ProMariner's reliability, survivability and function under the most demanding of hostile marine, industrial and outdoor environments.

As long as the manufacturer does not change anything or attempt to cut corners during production with an ill-advised, so-called "cost-savings" measure ( as too many otherwise reputable manufacturers have done to their ultimate regret ), these ProMariner battery chargers should keep on working as intended.
