M.Shoozee: The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this light back in mid December. It's mounted on my house over the driveway approximately 16’ in the air. It really is a job for two people if it's going to be mounted high in the air. But I somehow managed to get it done by myself. Since it has been installed, I used it infrequently and not that many hours per day with no issue- or so I thought. Over the course of several weeks, I noticed that the light wasn't charging and appeared to become increasingly dim over time. So I contacted Niorsun customer service about it. They responded within 24 hours. Crystal in customer service, and the engineering team requested that I check to make sure that the light was properly plugged in and that the solar panel was receiving proper light. I informed them that in both cases, it was. They requested a short video of the light in action to troubleshoot the problem. It was then verified by the Niorsun team that the light in fact, was not charging properly for an unspecified reason. I was promptly informed that a replacement light would be sent out immediately. Just Call Ben: I don't know how much of a lie the 400W claim is but I installed this along side a 150 watt 120V LED shoebox and the shoebox is at least 3 times brighter. I don't mind a little embellishment but this is silly.

Now, for the price and, if you have NO choice about power being available, this might be a good choice. But, NIORSUN, please don't pee on my leg and try to convince me it's raining. Your lies should be at least believable.

I didn't bench test this to verify the actual output but lets look at the batteries: they are 18650-sized so one would expect about 2000 mah from an average no-name cell. I did not open the shrink-wrapped packs. There are 2 4-cell packs inside the light. How do I know? They came loose from the adhesive that was supposed to secure them. I had to open the fixture to remount them. These 8 cells could feasibly provide 400W of power - for about 10 minutes... if they were 1C... in a perfect, loss-free system. So, no, nowhere near 400 watts light production.

The mount is also poorly designed where it's virtually impossible to attach the supplied hardware to the panel and mounting bracket. Further, the post mount is 5 inches wide but with only...

Michael D. BurkeMichael D. Burke: Pros: This light is bright and has nice features. The remote has limited range but since I only out my light up 16 feet, it works fine.
The solar panel is very large and the nice charging LEDs indicate charging even before the sun actually hits the panel under bright ambient light. The motion sensor is excellent and extends widely so that it picks up motion 20-30 feet away. The half light is considerably dimmer than the bright setting, but still effective in illuminating an area so one can see what is going on.
Cons: The mounting system is poorly designed and not built to last, IMO. The bracket that supports the solar panel does not stand tall enough to tilt the solar panel at a useful angle, so it is barely down from aiming vertical before it hits the light. Also the mount for the light boom is a thin sheet metal that collapses as it is tightened and looks too weak fir windy applications or places where ice might form. I separated the solar bracket completely and mounted it on a flat aluminum plate and bolted it to the pole using two stron U-Bolts. This allows it to be separated enough to tilt the solar panel down to about a 45 degree angle with the horizon and rotated so...
