Janeen Lindquist: The characters and worlds interwoven in this story, made it hard for me to put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next. It was a great distraction from the troubles of life, and I can't wait to read the next one.

Katslovesbooks: Keri Lake definitely knows how to deliver an epic gothic romance, I picked up the audiobook and I immediately became invested in this love story that defies everyone and everything.

This book goes between past and present, giving you little pieces of what now are Jericho Van Croix and Farryn.

Farryn has many questions regarding her life, the disappearance of her father and after many strange things happening lately she goes looking for answers but what she finds is literally out of this world in a place named Nightshade

Jericho is feared by many, a half angel half demon, he is an enigma to many including Farryn, but what they can't deny their intense attraction and connection they feel to each other.

There are so many things happening in this story, Keri Lake gave us a phenomenal unique plot with all the dark and gothic vibes, all the feelings on this book, the places and characters she described, there is nothing in this book I didn't enjoy, the only thing I would recommend is to go in bling, trust me there is nothing that will prepare you for this.

Ella: The storyline and characters in this book were quite unique. I am not sure how much Keri Lake based the town of Praecepsia on reality, but the way she spun the entire story was fascinating.
I would recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone wanting to dive into a beautiful, passionate love story that crosses worlds and timelines.
There are some darker scenes, however, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip those. Otherwise, if you are looking to see how deeply the "anti-hero" can love, to the point of burning the world down for their partner, you'll like this a lot.

VDIB: SPOILERS for book 1 and 2

Not terrible by any means, it just dragged a lot. It took them forever to meet, and once they do (after reincarnation), I just didn't care for them much? I think it's because their love story pre-reincarnation was SO much better. I literally only kept reading for the flashback chapters. If the author would have made that the main storyline this would be a five star for sure.

In the present time, I didn't care for the characters at all. Even though the hero is the same person, I feel like what he did in their seperation and how he acts towards her now is just so forced. I get growth and he's a lot older and everything, but idk, compared to his younger self, it made it hard to like him in the present time. I hate how she goes along with everything. She just didn't seem like she had much of a personality..

One particular thing that annoyed me was the ow drama. It was super unnecessary to the story.
Basically the hero was forced to lose his memories I think for a few decades, and in that time, he basically would screw his whole staff of women. We get one scene where they are all begging to have sex with him, but he started to dream of...

What a book to start me off for the year. This is exquisite. I’m actually speechless of the talent Keri has constantly.

Nightshade takes us to another world, realm of endless possibilities and trouble in the dark.

Farryn Ravenshaw has curiosity that could get her killed. But she needs answers and she is going to find them. After her mothers death and her father reported crazy on top of his disappearance.. Jacqueline: Não sei nem como começar a explicar essa historia de amor que transcende o tempo e aguenta tudo! eu sou completamente apaixonada pela escrita da Keri e como ela envolve os seus leitores! não sou muito de chorar lendo um livro mas esse daqui me fez chorar com coisas simples que aqueceram o meu coração. o mundo que essa mulher criou como sempre foi perfeito, o jeito que ela conta a historia deixando você curiosa sobre o que pode acontecer, o que ta acontecendo e como essa treta vai ser resolvida é perfeita. você nunca vai ter um momento de paz! recomendo tudo todos os livros dela e essa não é uma exceção. to animada para começar o segundo livro ❤️

Jessica: Keri Lake does it again! This was a fascinating read. It was so twisted and really had my brain working. I always love gothic novels and I'm a fan of cult stories. Throw in some fated romance and I'm a goner. This checked all my boxes

There was a point at about 75% into the book when it felt like it was done. The plot got a little lost, in my opinion. I think it was just that the focus grew too heavy on the couple coming together (trying to avoid spoilers here). The other plot points were forgotten. It definitely circled back and refocused.

I like that the ending wasn't exactly a cliffhanger. While I'm happy there's another book, I could have accepted this ending as final. I don't think that's an easy thing to accomplish as a writer, especially if you know you're going to continue the story.

As for the spice, I have just two words. Vibrating feathers. Hot hot hot. Sexy. Brilliant. Yum. That is all.

TatiannaTatianna: I am editing this review after reading Nightshade for the third time this year. I decided to re-read it before Infernium, and holy infernal lands, it was just as spectacular as the first time. This book gives me legitimate chills -- I am sitting here dumbfounded as to how Keri Lake created such a masterpiece. 5 stars could never be enough.

Keri Lake's writing is always incredible, and this book is no exception. The world-building is intricate and extensive, though not overwhelming. Nightshade is a genius landscape that is both chilling and enchanting. It's a place where suffering is pervasive and obscure and lost souls are not even aware that they are lost. Experiencing it through Farryn's eyes had me on the edge of my seat and so invested in her journey. The plot is brilliant and checks all the boxes for me: angels/demons, paranormal romance, enemies to lovers, fated lovers, commentary on religion and morality, multiple timelines and POVs, a quest for the truth and an ancient prophecy, as well as flawless smut (I must say... I will never look at a bell tower the same way). I mean, come on.
