Alan Roberts: Loved all characters, great carry on from Lords. Only took two days to read.

Madigan Likes to Read: Hot damn!! I am thrilled. I've been curious about dark romance for awhile, but rather than seeking it out I've been picking up only those popular books sites like TikTok and Reddit have dumped in my lap. And it's been trash fire after trash fire. Bc the thing is, it's not dark romance when the authors undermine the dark elements of the book by giving its mean and broody characters a heart of gold.

I've been thirsting for a book featuring wholly unredeemable characters, and I finally found it in this one. From beginning to end, these guys are the absolute worst, and I loved them for it. I saw one reviewer complain that this is more a study in psychology with no action and little plot. And you know what? I think that's exactly why I loved it.

This is a book of inches. We see Lavina slowly compromise her boundaries, suffering indignities large and small, and incrementally giving herself away until she becomes grateful for her captivity and the men holding her hostage. It's a mindbreak for her, but also for me as a reader bc I found myself rooting for these guys, who are absolute trash, and tearing up at what I'm somehow calling an HFN when these guys double down on...

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶(4/5)
Fastburn
Violence/gore (4/5)
Interconnected Standalone
Cliffhanger: yes
Tropes: college, fraternity/secret society, organized crime, forced proximity, reverse harem, dark

Premise in nutshell: the college has a "royal" society and the Dukes are one part of it. They end up with the main female character as their Duchess and she's not too happy about it.

Thoughts: if you read the Lord's series, which comes before this one you should already know this author and these Interconnected series are pretty dark and heavy on triggers. This on in particular was worse than the Lord's because the main female character isn't interested in the main male characters at all. She primarily feels fear and anger the entire book. And these Dukes, are not just morally grey, they are morally black. There seems to be no upper limit to the things they will do to this woman.

Marie Bonk: Pretty nick has decided the first time he saw her she would be his. Hired to be her handler by Daniel Payne two years ago to keep watch over her to make sure she doesn’t escape and no one gets to her nick has decided he will do anything to make her his. Including enrolling in classes and making sure he becomes a Duke , and sharing her with his brothers. It’s not all sunshine and daisy’s like he imagined and Lavinia fights every step of the way. And when she doesn’t warm up to them he sends her back to the very place of her nightmares…. Her fathers.
This is a heavy book. Lots of triggers so make sure to read those warnings

Alicia S: 👑 Dukes of Ruin (Book 4 of the Royals of Forsyth series) by Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue

4/5 ⭐️
3/5 🌶️

👑 I spent 50% of the book really really disliking the FMC. I couldn’t quite place why it was until I made it through and figured out I didn’t dislike her for any real reason other than wishing she would stop being so stubborn. But taking a step back from it made me realize that she wasn’t stubborn she was protecting herself from the Dukes.

👑 If you’re going into this thinking ohhh enemies to lovers a why choose greatness - be prepared to be disappointed - but not in a bad way. These men are villains. To the extreme.

👑 I would say that this TW: Dub Cón is teetering super close to actual 🍇 which took me a hot minute to maneuver through. The grey grey lines separating the two you have to work through which then allowed me to really like the FMC because she wouldn’t give into them. These men need to grovel A F TON.

👑 The story truly started to move and all these revelations and things I was dying to figure out all start to come to fruition. Right now my favorites of the MMCs are Remy, Sy, then Nick (this...

Lau: This was..... The Lord's on steroids. I was worried this book's might get same samey, but I was wrong. So wrong. Heed the trigger warnings, but if they don't put you off, buckle up, you're in for a bumpy ride.

Sarah Barnes: After reading the first three books of the series, I knew enough to wait until the next three were out before I started reading. Angel and Sam do not dissapointed. The story was a bit slower to develop then the other books but that ending really hit you hard. The twists and turns are hard to see coming. Absolutely loved this book.

Nico: “ To the victor go the spoils”

If I could, I would give it 100 ⭐️

This book is absolute brilliance.. and probably the darkest one I have ever read. I devoured the Lords Series and I kinda knew what to expect but you Ladies have just blown my mind.

In this book we get to meet another Forsyth Royals, The Dukes( Nick, Sy and Remy) and their Duchess, Lavinia.

Straight forward I must say that I love Lavinia, she is pure fire, sassy, fierce who is still battling her demons( in the form of her father). Deep in her soul she is still so vulnerable and she hopes that somehow she will be free of the fate that it was chosen for her.

And then the Dukes: Nick, pretty but dangerous, infatuated with his little bird, Sy, a beast who hides his insecurities behind his brutality and Remy, oh Remy, a genius artist with a beautiful, psychotic mind.. each so unique and complex but similar in their pain.

Reading this was pure bliss, I just couldn’t put it down. The twists, the sexual tension, the steam, the ending…absolutely phenomenal.
Can we have the next one, please???❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jenna: Dukes of Ruin follows the Dukes of Forsyth University instead of the Lords from the first 3 books, but they do pop up during this book which I love!

You definitely need to check triggers for this book!!! If you thought the Royals were dark, this one is definitely darker!

Lavinia is traded to become the Duchess to Nick, Remy and Sy, and she definitely does not want to be the Duchess and fights it tooth and nail, but it’s also better than something else she’s counting down to, which you find out later in the book.

I honestly don’t know who my favourite is so far, I love and also hate so many different things about each of the guys 😂 I’ll say my favourite so far is Archie to make it far 😂🐱 This book is definitely spicier compared to Lords of Pain (Book 1)… and some of the scenes 🥵🥵 Sy and Lavinia on the beach holy moly 🔥🔥🔥 and Remy also has my heart with the 7 point star 🥰

The cliffy on this book is intense and I need the next book ASAP and I’m impatiently twiddling my thumbs until it’s released!
