The comments about the ice packs are true. You cannot leave them in overnight because they are then too hard and you cannot shape them into the pockets. They should be gel instead. But, I have some reusable gel ones from CVS and use those. The position of the pockets around the knee are great! My knee feels better afterwards.

I'd been avoiding icing me knee following an injury as it was just awkward and pinning me to the the spot. This brace is brilliant, keeps everything in place and you can get up and nip to the loo etc. The pocket round the back of the knee is a real boost for me that has made so much difference for me, also the fact the front two are vertical is a stroke of genius. Can't really gush enough it's such a well though out product, build quality is great too. Works great on top of clothing so it's really easy to get on and and off.

There are a few reviews where people have used this directly on skin and downrated it unfairly, you just shouldn't do that for any product like this, you do need enough layers between an ice/heat pack and skin to form a thermal buffer. Also when used correctly the ice packs are completely enclosed, the back of the knee one can be a little bit awkward.
