Murderess Marbie: Stepped on uneven NYC sidewalk and snapped my ankle tendon. Heard a pop and it turns out I didn’t just twist it, but ruptured the tendons on both side of my ankle. The bandage my doctor gave me was great and more comfortable but not sustainable for me to walk on daily. So I got this after looking at so many reviews. Love it. I bought other kinds for ankle support but this one was the best. I have a tension sock which is really nice too but does not provide the foot stability and proper posture like this. Was able to put up Christmas decorations for a few hours no problem. I will say I have to take it off after 5-8 hours depending, to get the circulation back in my toes. If I don’t rest often between errands my feet get swollen like piggy feet. So I have to put them above my head to get the inflammation to go down. Sleeping in it is difficult due to how tight it is so I decided to buy a larger size after buying and testing a few others. Made the mistake of using a copper gel sock which was nice for my brother for Achilles injury but for ankle tendons it was excruciating. Woke up sobbing in pain.

Downsides: The straps snag the sock fabric. So be really accurate and stick...

Elizabeth: If you don’t reattach the Velcro to the strap when you’re not using it, it will snag the cloth on the boot part.

RoyBlaze: I hurt my achilles tendon while gardening on a hill in August. I was limping along for a couple of months and decided to get some support bandage. The local drug store had none so I came here and saw this one. Looked good, measured the way they show and ordered the large. It came around 3PM and my ankle already hurt from the day. I put it on and it fit but still hurt, but it isn't a miracle healer. I liked the square cloth squares it came with for the velcro too. I had some velcro strips and made two squares to anchor the velcro when I am not wearing. I don't have to fight it while putting on or taking off. Anyway next day, I put it on in the morning and I didn't feel much pain all day. I get a twinge if I try to extend the tendon but nothing that bad. I have a fit bit and have done 43,000 steps since that morning and I wish I had gotten it earlier!! I am almost walking normally. I am getting another. Prevention. I feel next time I have to work on the hill, I will have two of these on to prevent any problems.

UPDATE: After wearing one on the bad ankle for a month, I no longer need it for normal walking. I still have a slight limp as the tendon hasn't gained full flexibility...
